SOURCE: water is filling up in drain pain

My suggestion is to NOT pull the plug on the drain that should be covered with a sign that says...do not remove plug. Water is supposed to be kept in the pan. The interior wheel then helps the water keep the condenser cool....Ron

SOURCE: Location of Drain holes on Duo-Therm Model 630035.321

Good place to start is up on the roof. Look way under the unit (hard to see some times) along the bottom, between where the gasket sits on the roof and metal bottom of unit. Should see small round or similar sticking down from unit. There will be a hole in the side of them. Poke around with a wire or something to open them up. If you don't see water/condensation running across your roof from unit when it's operating, (usually in 2 directions, 1 each side of unit) then yup, there plugged.

SOURCE: cant find drain hole in window air-con

Modern window AC units no longer have a drain hole.

Condensate flows to the area under and around compressor. The heat from the compressor evaporates the water.

Installing an Amana ptc153g35c unit. Have question about grille installation and drainage for outside

You should have h=got full installation instructions with it although this model seems to be discontinued. Grill installation should be straightforward. The drain to outside is normally 3/8 or half inch pipe and is required for the defrost cycle and to catch condensation..

Where is the drain pan drain hole on the bottom of the Fridgidaire FAC 127S1A air conditioner?

Good Morning Friend,

I understand you want to know where the drain hole is on your Frigidaire air conditioner, model# FAC127S1A. I see that the drain seems to be blocked, as water is collecting in the drain pan, instead of draining. The drain hole is located beneath the compressor. You might want to try tilting your air conditioner slightly to the outside, to allow better water drainage. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Our window air unit is leaking into the house. It was purchased it earlier this summer and has worked fine until now. We don't see a drainage hole on the outside and the manual said nothing about a...

Two things can cause the problem you're having. Either separately or collectively.

1. The drain hole in the drip pan near the rear of the unit is clogged.
Sometimes finding the drain hole can be a challenge. As the clog will blend in with the hole. Patience & persistence is what is needed in locating it. A pipe cleaner works well to clear the clog.

2. The rear of the unit does not have enough downward tilt.
The general rule of thumb for rear downward tilt is 1/4' to 1/2". This allows the water to flow to the rear of the drain pan and thru the drain hole. Rather than into the house.

Hope this helps you & thanks for choosing FixYa..

Unable to locate the drainage for condensed water. I could look inside and see that water is accumulating at the bottom. Feddlers AEJ12E7AG, window unit. Thank you

Hello, most window units evaporate the condensate by having the fan blad sling the water on the condenser. Because the condenser is warm/hot it will evaporate. You shou.d be hearing a sloshing sound after the unit has benn running for a while, this indicates that the fan blade is picking up the water from the bottum of the ac.

What would make the washer not drain or spin?

Any of these two may work please try Instructions: Draining the machine 1) Locate the drainage hose, pump and filter. Check your owner's manual for the description. If you cannot access these items easily from the outside of your machine you may have to call a repair person.
2)Disconnect the drain hose. Make sure the end has been open (and cut) and that there is nothing plugging it. If the end is closed, cut the end off. Remove any blockage and let the water drain into the bucket. If the hose is not blocked, or your model washing machine does not feature a drainage hose, proceed to Step Three.
3)Check the pump and filter. In some models this resides behind a flap in the back of a washing machine. Locate a small drain hose and disconnect to drain the water. Hoses located in this manner may cause the water to drain slowly. If it drains only in small drops or not at all you may have to take apart the pump to find the blockage.
4)Bail out the water using a small bucket.
other alternate would be
Most likely it is the lid switch. And you can't always tell just by looking at it.

Next guess would be the timer having bad contacts.

If it wants to spin but don't or barely moves, then it's the coupling that needs to be replaced.

What causes the lid switch to go bad is slamming/dropping the lid down or setting something heavy on top of the washer.

The washer is supposed to pump out the water first, then start spinning. It won't do that if the lid switch is bad.

We have a hotpoint RLA 34 ( MICROBAN ) FRIDGE . water keeps seeping into the bottom , under the crisper box tried turnining temp down , made sure it's level , no blocked drainage hole . door shuts tight...

You said no blocked drainage hole, where was the drainage hole that you checked located? Did you pour water down this drain, and furthermore did you check that the water you poured into the drain flowed into the condensate pan on the outside of the fridge? Unless you have a problem with an ice maker leaking water, it sounds very much like you do have a blocked drainage hole, otherwise known as a defrost drain. the drain system begins underneath the evaporator coil inside the freezer, this is where the water that is collected in the defrost cycle flows into a drain tube that leads the water down to the condensate pan. The best and safest way to clear out this drain is to blow it out with compressed air, after you remove any and all ice at the beginning of the drainage system, in other words, the hole located underneath the evaporator coil.

I have a freidrich model cp24e30 ariconditioner I just installed. Where is the drainage plug located

On the condenser / outside left rear corner about 4 incues in from the corner and left side as you look at it there is a punch out hole in the drain pan. The newer AC Units are designed to use the plastic fan blade of the condenser fan to splash water on the condenser and evaporate the water. Most of the time it is not necessary to open this drain hole unless you live in a damp climate where the home constantly has a higher internal humidity percentage. It is however necessary to have the unit serviced at regular intervals for coil and fan cleaning due to the fact that dust becomes a caked up goo over time especially on the condenser coil and the 2 fans.

If you feel that you need to open the hole in the drain pan trhen you will also need to install the 3 X 5 inch external drain catch basin with 3 screws and possibly connect an external drain hose and piping.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Water Leakage

sounds as if your condensating drain is clogged. This drain is connected to a drain pan in which your eveporator coil is in. The filter material may have gotten into this pan and covered the drain hole. The way to check is to open the area where the coil is located and look at the tray this coil sits in. This tray should have a hole right in the corner of it. You may need to get a shop vac with a small hose attachment and use it to remove the water in this pan in order for you to see this drainage hole. You may also go to the drain where it is located on the outside of the house (this drain is located by the a/c unit outside most of the time) and using the wet vac, put the house on the end of the drain pipe and have the vaccum pull out alll the debris this way. Good Luck

Continuous drainage

Take out the drain pan and look in left hand top of the compartment and you will see a drain hole for the pan.Plug the drain hole with a small rubber plug, I used an electrical wire nut wrapped with tape and it worked fine.replace the pan and the water will run out the back. A 3/4" garden hose should work for the drain hole.

Whirlpool Air Con Drainage issue

Yes, there should be a place for the condensate to drain outside. It's apparently clogged and the drip pan is overfilling. Look for a tube or an opening outside where the condensate should be exiting. This needs to be unclogged.
