How do i reboot my sylvania smartbook..cant get past password screen..its a synet07wicv/windows 7embed.please help!!!!???

If there is a small door on the bottom of the smartbook, open it with a screwdriver. See if you have access to the coin battery that is in there. That stores the password in the memory. If you have access to that battery, unplug or remove it for approximately 10 minutes and then reinsert it. That should reset it.

Smartbook 7 will not hold a full charge after recharged

has it been plugged in to power for most of its life because that is one of the quickest ways to kill a battery and a battery is only good for 24-48 months (normally)

Loss of power

your laptop battery might need replacing

test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions SATA

the leads from your (motherboard to your hard drive) make sure they have a secure dust free connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd have secure connections and are not faulty

even something as small as an electrical extension or a faulty fan lead can cause you problems computer needs all of the data and power to travel through every working device and to have an end for a computer to be able work properly

a motherboard and a hard drive any leads between them will fail before your motherboard or your hard drive check all electrical extensions make sure they are securely seated even the cd/dvd drives need to have current go through make sure these devices are working

check the CPU make sure it has thermal paste and dust free secure seating

also check your computer ram modules and cmos battery make sure it has charge and they are dust free and securely seated some motherboards cmos batteries are soldered in

hope it helps

Need a free power on password repair for toshiba satellite 1400. when unit boots system asks for a password where none was? need to clear the password portion in the bios

Because the BIOS is stored in ROM, it must have a constant power supply to store any changes you make to it, otherwise it would reset every time you disconnected your laptop from AC power. Removing power to the BIOS resets it to factory settings and involves disconnecting a small battery attached to the motherboard. On many laptops, the BIOS battery is easily accessible through a door on the bottom of the unit. Unplug the computer, remove the main battery and touch something metal to ground yourself. Remove any screws holding the BIOS battery door in place. Then identify the battery, (it is generally a small lithium "watch" battery), and remove it taking care not to damage any surrounding circuitry. Let the computer rest for a twenty minutes or so discharge any remaining power, and replace the battery If your laptop does not have an easily accessible door for the BIOS battery, you may have to dive deeper and disassemble the computer to find it. Consult your laptop manufacturer's website for information on replacing or removing the BIOS battery from your model.

It's the purple digital camera-Hannah Montana, I do not know how to charge it, so that they can continue to play with it. I could download the photo, but what about charging the battery?

Hi, you charge this unit via a USB cable, you should have a USB cable that you connect to the unit and to any USB port, this then will charge your batteries up.
Either that or if it uses Normal batteries, one can simply use NON-rechargeable... and replace them when flat.
If it uses a Pack, then obtain a mains charger for that pack, and usually another battery, and use one and charge one.
Or one can obtain a suitable main battery charger, and use that, with the existing batteries, to charge.
Ebay would be your best bet for obtaining these things.

My garmin 255w nuvi keep turning off and wont turn on

It is a good idea to perform a hard reset on your Garmin Nuvi after updating the software.

The Hard Reset procedure has been known to delete your Favorites, so back them up beforehand.

  1. From the Nuvi drive, copy '/Garmin/GPX/current.gpx' to a backup location on your computer.
  2. After the hard reset, copy your backed up 'current.gpx' from your computer back to the '/Garmin/GPX/' folder on the Nuvi, but be sure to rename it 'temp.gpx'.
  3. On the next power cycle, the Favorites will be read from 'temp.gpx' into the non-user accessible memory area on the Nuvi where they are actually stored.
Perform the Hard Reset:

*Note that this will clear all user selected settings on the unit

  1. Power the unit off.
  2. Remove the battery and wait several minutes.
  3. Install the battery.
  4. Press and hold (and continue to hold) the bottom-right corner of the screen while powering the unit on.
  5. Continue to hold the screen until the "Do you want to erase all user data?"prompt appears.
  6. Press "yes" and the unit will reboot. This resets all your location settings and user preferences.

I recieved my new GPS today> It is a Garmin750. It has a non-user-replaceable lithium-ion battery in it and it says battery low. Does that mean it needs a new battery? I haven't even used it yet?

You just need to recharge it. I have a different model but, should be the same. Connect the unit to a USB port on your computer or the car charger to recharge it.

Low Battery DATA Lose - HP iPAQ Model h5450 Packet PC

The h5450 comes with what HP calls a backup battery. It is built into the device and not accessible by the user. However, the backup battery has only enough juice to power the Pocket PC for a few minutes while you change main batteries. Don't expect it to keep your RAM data alive if the main battery runs out.
