Spitting water My unit is spraying water out of the fan. It is tilted as far back as it's going to go and it's only a week old so I doubt it's dirty. Is there something else I can do to fix this problem?

Hi, recently my a/c window unit starting making a water sloushing sound then started spitting ice. Is it dying?

What you are hearing is a water buildup in the drip pan under the unit. This is caused by a clogged drain hole and/or not enough downward tilt on the rear of the unit. The rule of thumb is 1/4" to 1/2' rear downward tilt. This allows the water to flow to the rear of the drip pan and out thru the drain hole. The spitting ice, is from the fan blades hitting the water in the drip pan. Turn the unit OFF & unplug it. Then check and adjust if necessary, the things I mentioned above. Aslo, be sure that the air intake filter remains clean.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Brand new GE room size ac unit (1 week old) is spiiting water out of the air vent into the room. Unit 100% level.

If a brand new unit is spitting water, i waould suggest that it is short of refrigerant... Get your installer back or the Manufacturer.. You need to hold An ARC licence to do this ( In Australia)

Haier 5500 window unit, spits water into the room sometimes. Also, water "sloshes" around inside the fan area & is quite noisy sometimes. ? Thankyou for your assistance...

You will need to reposition the unit to where it will be tilted downwards slightly outside.
The water will then flow out the back and not spit into the room.

We got our unit about a week ago brand new ... It has been building up ice inside and spitting out water!

Have you checked to see if drains are at back, and unit requires a slight tilt down and out the window?
Most do.

Window air conditioner is spitting water

Hello, usually a window AC will spit water if the unit is not tilted back or if the drain is backed up, if the unit is level try tilting it back it the window somewhat. Also, if the unit does have a drain make sure it is not blocked.

My ac is spitting watter by the vent, and making noise i think it happends when the fan inside hits the water that acumulates inside is there something i can do to fix this and make the water go out

The AC fan is blowing the water that has condensed on the cooling pipes. It is possible that there is clogging of dirt in the fins of the cooling pipe'
this results in water logging. The filters must be clogged and dirt has accumalated.Use a good air spray or a water jet to clean. The condensed water must flow to the rear of the unit to drain out .{A/C must be fitted slightly tilted.}.Hope this helps.

(Tilted) Plasmaire spits water into room....

What your problem is is that water coming back into your face is condesation. Appearently there is a clog preventing your condensation water from draining out the back side of the a/c You can remove the a/c from it's sleeve, take it outside and with a pump sprayer (Type used for spraying insecticide) filled with water spray around the base of the a/c where the condensor coil sits (you should see a small drain channel in this area) If this drain channel is clogged water will back up and the squirrel cage will pick it up throwing it out into the house.. Good Luck on your repairs

Sears Plasmaire spits water into room

It's probably just holding water somewhere and getting thrown out. I've seen people drill holes on the bottoms to drain water quicker.

Droplets of water are coming from the vents and it's making a noise like something is rattling around inside. What could this be?

The problem with this unit is that the evaporator, or the part of the air conditioner that 'creates' the colder air is not draining correctly. Pertaining to a window unit, it needs to be installed correctly with the correct amount of tilt toward outside, to allow the evaporator condensation water to drain. You may also want to check to make sure there aren't any plugged drain holes in the air conditioner housing.

The rattling you hear is most likely the blower fan spinning against the held water inside the unit.

I hope this helps! :)

Air conditioning unit is spitting out water

unit need to be tilted to the rear as it is installed in the window for proper drainage of condensation water off of the interior coil
the fan on the rear will pick up the water and remove it

tilt it back a little
