Question about DeLonghi BAR 140 Espresso Machine

Failing delonghi espresso machine ed140

Until two months ago we were extremely happy with our machine--low price, great little espresso, etc. however, despite regular cleanings (or maybe because of, who knows?), it recently gave up the crema--the coffee comes out, but very slowly and with little or no crema. admittedly, we probably overuse the machine--10-15 per day, but we're careful and didn't expect it to give up the ghost after only a year and a half! do the pumps on these low-priced machines usually give out that quickly? is there anything we can try?

Yeah, I have the same problem. I've taken it apart, cleaned it thoroughly, and run vinegar through it, without solving the low-pressure problem. I'm convinced the pump is shot. Can anyone suggest where to find a new pump?

Yeah, I have the same problem with low pressure after about 1 year. I've taken it apart, cleaned it thoroughly and run vinegar through it, without solving the low-pressure problem. I'm convinced the pump is shot. Can anyone suggest where to find a new pump for a DeLonghi BAR 140?.

Check the filter holes. They might need to be cleaned with a needle.

Coffee runs too slowly and tastes awful - DeLonghi ECO310BK 15-Bar-Pump Espresso Machine

Yes it may need descaling - deposits like calcium etc from 'clean' town water will build up in the machines boilers and tubes over time - that's why we descale them regularly - even if they don't get a lot of use.
Suggest you get some proper descaling liquid, not vinegar or CLR, read the manual on how to do it (download it off the net if you don't have it). ( it takes a little while as the descaler has to eat away those deposits and the machine will pump a little water out, then wait for a while, pump a little more etc until its finished the process)
Make sure your filter in the coffee dispenser handle is clean as coffee itself will build up and block those tiny holes if the machine is not porperly cleaned each day when used.

Delonghi coffee machine making an aweful noise,

Hi. Husband asks: When you first turn the machine on at the power point, does it make a motor sound and then stop, or is the awful noise apparent at that time.

If the awful noise starts as soon as you turn it on, then most likely there is a motor problem which will need to be seen by a Service Center.

Could be scale build up. Do you have well water? You should run a descaler or white vinegar through the unit often to keep the boiler outlets clean.

Unless you are saying that the pump just doesn't run, ie, no noise, vibration, etc. Then, thanks for the warning that their pumps are bad.
