Canon NP6412 Blank Copies

I have a NP6412 that is printing blank copies. The drum only has 1000 copies on it but is 5 years old. It was given to a friend and I don't know the origin of the machine. I think it's either the drum or the exposure lamp. Any body have any suggestions before I spend money on a new drum?

If copies are totally blank then it most likely is not the drum. It is transfer to the drum. A charge wire is most likely the cause of these type symptoms. Not easy to do if you never have before. Exposure lamps being bad give a solid black copy symptom so I am pretty sure thats not it either. You have a charge corona inside that is probably what your issue is. If you know someone who is a tech they might restring it for you as a favor or take the unit to a local dealer to see how much they would charge to restring.

Hope that helps

Canon NP4050 putting out blank pages

The NP 4050 has been known for given blank copies... Is the developing unit locked in place... There is a Grey or blue lever inside the front door to the right... It is under the toner hopper. It's been along time... I believe the lever should be clicked to the right and up. Also there is a locking screw that holds it in place, Most times that screw is missing and the unit falls away from the drum unit and you get blank copies and the front door will close.. Good Luck

My al-1631 gives blank copies. just replaced toner. no warning lights of any kind. no message lights. it just prints out blank paper. could it be the drum? can't find instruction manual. purchased...

Was the copier working fine before you changed the cartridge? If so I think your cartridge is the problem. If it started making blank copies right after you changed it. If this is not the case the first thing I would say is it is not the drum. Try opening and closing the right side door. There are contacts in the door that will cause blank copies. I have had several customers do this and it fixed the problem. You can also try pulling out the toner and then pull the drum unit partially out and re-seat it. Then re-install the toner.

Removed paper jam and now copies are blank.

Drum Memory
Make about 5 to 10 prints; then, leave the machine in the office environment (normal temperature/humidity conditions)

* This symptom is noticeable in a low temperature/ humidity environment, and is absent under normal environmental conditions.

* This symptom occurs in keeping with the primary charging roller rotation (38 mm).
