SOURCE: what does f12 mean on

Hi, I think the F12 Error means lack of water or water turned off, check that first, if water is turned on then turn it off disconnect the hose from the machine, then hold the hose in a bucket and gently turn on the hose tap to check if water does flow, if it does check the valve on the back of the machine, there is usually a small filter in there that can get blocked, these can be pulled out by a small tab on top of the filter using a pair of pliers, clean it and then put it back in reconnect the hose and turn the water back on, try the machine again, if its still the same it could be a faulty water valve that will need replacing.

There is another reason F12 could appear which is a faulty PCB or wiring harness fault, but generally the above should be checked first.

Here's a picture below showing an example of the valve with the filter in blue, you might just be able to see the tab on the filter.

Hope this helps.

My hotpoint aqualtis aqxxd 169pm displays a blockage, we have cleared filter and checked pump is working, yet it still displays same message, and now when the power is on the drum wont turn.

Did you check the filter the pepellor sometimes can get something stuck in it. In one case i came across there was a hair go-go stuck in the pepellor. And also check the pipes at the back the cold water mains pipe going to the washing machine and the discharge pipe are not twisted or kinked

My power tripped the other day and when I remade the breaker the washing machine (hotpoint aqualtis aqxxd 169) has come back on but in Polish!!! how do I reset it to English??

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
(If no one else answers here is how to obtain a manual!)
You will need to type into your search engine/web browser '(make model number) washer manual' and you should be presented with a number of sources from which you can either download for free or have to pay a nominal amount.
You could also try the manufacturer's web site direct ;-0)
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!
John C.

Says F5 on display, wont empty.

just had F5 blockage warning on hotpoint aqualtis. Removed front panel on the bottom and unscrewed filter, cleaned and replaced. checked all outlet pipe was clear. Laid washing machine on to its back and removed black pipe from pump and checked and finally removed the other end of the pipe that joins to the drum. large ball acts a valve and a missing sock was found in the drum end! replaced all parts and washing machine works a treat! before the f5 warning the machine leaked from the door on a couple of occasions, no problem since and may have been a build up of water finding its only way out.

My Hotpoint Aqualtis AQXXD 169 PM is adding time to the was cycle, taking longer to wash through the cycle? ant ideas?

the time is a generic time and will adjust accordingly as goes through programe-for example it allows a certain time to heat in the winter your cold supply may be colder so the machine needs longer to heat water-load size-if its adding more than 30 mins then check filter
