If the codes for your Digital Lab DLU-5004B universal remote are not working with your RCA TV, there are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
Check the manufacturer's website: Some manufacturers may have updated or additional codes available for their TVs. You can check the manufacturer's website to see if there are any new codes that may work with your TV.
Try a different code: If the codes provided in the remote's manual are not working, you can try using a different code for your TV brand. You can find a list of codes for different TV brands online or in the manual for your universal remote.
Check the remote's battery: Make sure the remote's battery is charged and properly installed. A weak or dead battery can cause the remote to malfunction.
Reset the remote: Resetting the remote may help resolve any issues with the remote's programming. To reset the remote, remove the battery and press any button on the remote for at least 15 seconds. Then, reinsert the battery and try the codes again.
Check the TV's compatibility: Some TVs may not be compatible with universal remotes, in which case you will need to use the TV's original remote or a different universal remote that is compatible with your TV.
If these troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, it is possible that there is a problem with the remote or the TV itself. In this case, it is recommended to bring your TV and remote to a professional for further diagnosis and repair.
Set-up (Programming) procedure is too much to type in here, and is not practical and it will differ brand-to-brand remote controls. If you wish to get more; check the site linked here. It has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. Pull up older posts. http://electrohelponline.blogspot.com/ http://remotesearch.blogspot.com/
Universal remote control setup codes to check with Akai Brand TVs are 0105 0002 0077 0254. If you wish to get more codes to different other models of remote controls, check this link.
Me thinks IF you tried the 'code search' function and none worked, I sincerely doubt if anyother 'codes' will marry your Philips Remote to your electrohome TV.
This is because your "SEARCH" effort already went through ALL of the possible codes THAT Philips Remote knows andcan deliver. It is also possible that a different MODEL of Philips Remote MAY stumble on codes that DO work!
IF you have a 'original' remote, SOME NEWER remotes can LEARN the proper codes from the original remote! BUT you NEED that original remote to send the desired IR data pulses to the smart student remote.
And GOD ~ those TV's are SO OLD, did they even HAVE remotes??
You most likely will not be able to find a code for it because it is an off brand (not-so-well known brand) and most universals will not have codes for that brand. if your universal remote doesnt have codes for the Mintek brand or has them and they dont work then, sorry that remote will not work for you. you will need to try and get a different one. or try and get the original remote. you can try finding the original remote at ReplacementRemotes.com by typing in the model of the Mintek DVD player. or you can try Ebay.
I too have the remote that died and am trying to find the code so I can just program it into the satellite remote. Thanks for the website to the company, I will see if they respond or just tell me to buy a new remote from them.
