GE Monogram 24" Dishwasher not quite getting the job done

Less than 3 years old and this machine is run maybe once a week. The problem is that it isn't really getting things clean. More to the point all of the dishes and glasses have dirty streaks and residual dishwashing detergent stains all over them, so I know for sure that it isn't rinsing correctly or thoroughly. How can I solve this problem or do I need to have repair person look at it? I live in NYC and installed the unit myself when renovating our kitchen so I can pretty much repair anything myself unless it's a parts replacement issue. Please advise.Thanks,

The problem for the spots is hard water. There is a new product out at www.dishwasherfilter.com that solves this problem once and for all. Th ete first thing to do is put a pack of limonade unsweetened through a wash, it will clean any hardness minerals. Next be sure the heat element is working properly, then consider replacing the pump/motor assembly, fairly easy you can prts online.
