You have a clogged defrost drain tube. best way is to thaw unit out. Your vents are being blocked so no air flow is pushed down.

SOURCE: refrigerator will not maintain proper temperature

Check in the back of the fridge section; there is normally a control that is provided for 'balancing' the cold air between the two sections. That coolled air is distributed by a concealed fan that may not be running; you should be able to ear or feel the air movement when the unit is in a cooling cycle.

SOURCE: the temperature won't go down below 48 degrees

Maybe be defrost problem. If there is ice build up in back of freezer then its not defrosting and blocking air flow. also made sure fan is working on inside and outside coils. May need to call in a tech if any of the 3 problems are present. can also be freon, compressor or control problem.

The temp for the fridge is about right and -18 for the freezer is ok so check to see if the water filter is plugged, at 8 degrees Celsius is about 18 degrees fht. Which is freezing so the numbers don't add up. 26 degrees below zero on the freezer side is what you want if it that cold it could have frozen the water line.

On my GE GTH21SCXSS, top freezer bottom refer, the freezer and refrigerator settings are on the coldest settings and the freezer won't go below 15 degrees and the refer won't go below 43 degre

Do you see any ice buildup on the back panel of the freezer? You may need to remove the back panel to see if the coils are iced over. Post back your results.

Can any make of freezer be used in garage. Told only Beco

Refrigerators are designed to be used inside at typical to normal household temperatures. The problem with refrigerators are if the ambient temperatures drop down below 55 Degrees F Food in freezer will begin to defrost when the temperature in the garage goes below 55 degrees Fahrenheit. The fresh food section may begin to freeze food slightly below this temperature. If you live in an area where the outside ambient temperature does not get below 70 degrees F or 20 degrees C then the refrigerator will work fine but to have it located in an area where temperatures drop well below this you could lose some food. There are heaters that can be adapted to the compressor if used in an unheated area. Hope this helps, Sea Breeze

Icemaker is slow in producing ice

If your icemaker is producing ice, but it is slow, there are 2 likely explanations.
1. Temperature. Water freezes at 32 deg, but the icemaker won't eject the ice until it gets below 10 degrees. If you always had good ice output and all of a sudden it has slowed down, you're temperature is a little higher than ideal. Check for a door seal not making good contact or try dropping the temp in the FREEZER side a couple degrees
2. New model. Most new refrigerators make ice much slower than older models to meet energy efficiency guidelines. This is not a repairable issue.

Amana ars2464 won't make ice

first check that the icemaker is getting water

second, check the temperature in the freezer. the freezer needs to be below 10 degrees to work.

if both check out, then you need a new icemaker

Ice maker will not make ice Model number

  • When it Won't Make Ice
    • 1 Get a thermometer and see how cold it is in there. If your freezer is fewer than 17 degrees F, it won't make ice. The freezer temperature setting may be too high or the thermometer is broken and not calibrated correctly. If adjusting the temperature fails to work, call a Kenmore technician.
    • 2 Determine if your water fill spout in the freezer is plugged with ice. If so, no new ice can be made. Try clearing it out or melting the ice by running a hair dryer on it for a few minutes.
    • 3 Turn your refrigerator around to look at the back side to see if water is getting to the water inlet valve behind the fridge. If the water is not properly connected, there's no water to make ice.
    • 4 Use an ohm meter to test for coil continuity. If the ohm meter shows there is no continuity, then you will need to replace the water inlet valve.
  • Hope this tips will help you.

    Have a nice day! : )

Freezer won't get below 30 degrees at the highest setting, food won't freeze.

Possible that the gas pressure is down to low gas or leak on the system. Also it can be due to faulty thermostat, faulty compressor if the compressor is working all the time and reaching the set temperature. Also if the compressor is not cutting off this must be a suspect.
