Re: lose vidio

The solder joints on the vertical output IC have come loose. This is very common on those sets. If you do not have any experience resoldering small parts on PC boards, have the IC resoldered by a qualified tech.

TV has no sound

You haven's specified nothing about the picture. Picture is Ok and there is no sound I thinks and posts this solution

Either your TVs speaker or its sound out put ic has damaged. To check it and conifrm you just do this first. There is a stero headphone socket on the front panel of your TV. Insert a headphone pin inot it and listen whether there is sound output come ffrom it or not. If there is sound output from the headphone socket, and not from the speaker, be sure taht the speaker is out.
If there is no sound output from the headphone socet, wither your TVs sound output ic is damaged or it doesn't get proper voltage to go on. It is very easy to locate this IC, as speaker wire goes directly to this section. Just follow the speaker wire and locate the IC, usually screwed on to a metal heatsink. Check its input voltage. If there is no voltage to that IC, check the track associated with that pin. If there is voltages and still not works. first resolder all the pins of that IC by applying a little more solder, whout shorting the adjecent terminals. If this does not helps, replace that IC with same type and number. OK.

My tv has beatiful pic but no voice comes out until u plug in video game or vcr with movie but sound doesn't come out for regular tv movies can u help?

sound like the modulator where the cable plugs into has an issue or the audio input jack is not switching.
the modulator takes a rf signal and decodes it into audio and video.
since the sound is working with a video input, the defect is either in the modulator block,or the rca audio input jack is not connecting two of the pins when the rca cord is unplugged.
spray some contact cleaner into the rca plug for the audio.

Once the tv is on it only plays a few minutes, then the picture goes dark and the red power light on the front starts blinking. If I do nothing within five to ten minutes it would will come back on. then...

I had a similar problem, except I could make the screen and sound come back by banging on the the TV. I opened the TV and poked around on the circuit card and found a loose pin on one of the regulators, labeled C3852. I resoldered the pins and its working fine now.

Help! Surround Sound problems!

Since you have a surround sound system, you probably should just bypass the TV's audio.

Connect the red/white plugs from your digital cable box to one of the inputs on your surround sound system but not the Phono input unless the Phono input lists something aside from Phono, like Aux/Phono or CD/Phono.

Connect the S-Video or composite (yellow) video plug from your digital cable box directly to the S-Video or composite (yellow) video jack on your TV.

If your digital cable box does not have a S-Video (4 pins and flat rectangular hole) or Composite (yellow RCA jack) jack and only has the screw/push-on type cable with the pin in it, then leave the remaining connections as-is.

Now switch your surround sound system to the input you connected the red and white plugs to and turn on your TV. You should see picture from the TV, but hear audio from the surround sound system.

Power light blinks and no picture

No picture - screen is empty. Sound is ok
Check IC101 (BA7630F), if video signal comes to input (pin 1) but not present at output (pin 14) then replace this IC
No picture and sound, only a high pitch sound at switch on
Remove horizontal transistor and measure the resistance across any two pins. This value should be no less than 200ohms
Picture fades away few seconds after start-up till no picture. Sometimes no picture at all. Sometimes picture OK for longer. Sound unaffected.
Faulty joints on CRT pcb. Cracked solder joints at tube socket connections on CRT circuit board. Caused variable supply to CRT heaters. Resolder all socket pins to pcb.

Sony KV- 32V35 Front Jacks

Yes, the front RCA jacks on the Sony sets always seem to crack loose. I have seen that many, many times. To get to those jacks, you will have to remove the back of the TV and carefully pull out the main chassis, taking care not to pull out any wires or jacks. When the main chassis slides back, there is a smaller board in front of the main board, and the pushbuttons and RCA jacks are on that smaller board. The connectors to that board usually come off when you slide the main chassis back, so you will need to put those jacks back in place when reassembling. Slide the smaller board back, flip it over and resolder the connections on the RCA jacks. Sometimes I find that the copper trace to the center pin of the video (yellow) RCA jack is broken, so test for continuity and solder a small jumper wire to take the place of the cracked copper trace if necessary. Reassembnle the set and your jacks should be working fine.
