Question about Sharp AL 1631 Copier

2 Answers

This 1631 has clip on (Green) pickup tires - Any sources???

Regular Suppliers only carry the old slip on black tires. These are snap in. Could I change the whole shaft with the old style?

I ordered the old style shaft with the black tires. It fit perfectly and worked just fine. Ordered my parts from Precision Roller.

You could try, or failing that take the tyres off the wheels and swap them.

I have a 25 year old kitchen faucet and Moen does not carry the part any more. I need to replace the spout and is there shop out there still carry them?

If the manufacturer no longer makes the style there is only a slim chance of finding someone with old stock. You might have more luck at a salvage yard.

Perhaps you can find a close match from the great many styles of tap available. We English call them taps.

Most taps are machined brass castings which are then chrome plated. If you really need to keep the style you have it should be possible to recondition it and then have it replated.

I have a ford focus se 2001 and the two rear wheel barrings keep going bad! We replace them and they go bad every four months! The car has brand new tires and they continue to go out! Any ideas????

If this does not have sealed bearings then you have the old style bearing. The old style bearings are 2 parts, the cone and the race. If you only replace the cone, it will quickly fail because a race that is scored up is abrasive.

If the bearing race has not been properly installed it will be lopsided in the seat of the hub. There is also a process for installing the race, never, ever draw the race into the hub using the old or new bearing. You will scar, flatten, or bend both parts.

There is a process for packing the bearing with grease, and there is a front and back to the seal for the hub for these old style units.

Now if the bearing is a third style, a sealed trailer hub style that bolts onto the axle shaft, this style acts both as the spindle and a permanent bearing. Some Manufactuers go this route for simplicity, but some chose to have a removeable sealed bearing as yet another combination.

Do not understand if you are saying just the bearings go bad or the tires go bad too. Usually bad bearings cause the tires to go bad, not the other way around.

Sometimes you have problems with the rear Emergency brake pads, some need to be loosened and readjusted when the brakes are taken off to get at the hub.

Got bernina 1015 sport sewing machinewith one foot want to buy zip, buttonhole &overlock foot is ther a special number or do all bernina feet fit al types of bernina machines

This machine uses 'New style' snap on feet. The reason it is 'new' is because old style Bernina feet are the complete foot, whereas new style you just 'snap on' the foot base.

Ebay is the best place to find original Bernina feet at very reasonable prices. I recently purchased a solid steel 'old style' foot from UK for U.S. $28.

When purchasing zipper feet, decide if you want regular zipper foot or invisible zipper foot. Often it is cheaper to order both at the same time, due to S&H fees.

How to change passengers side drive shaft

Diagrams are showing two different drive shafts. One style has three bolts that hold the shaft to the frame the other (standard style)is just pried or pulled off. Both will have compression rings to hold the axle into the gearbox. A good pull will extract them most times. Sometimes it helps to have a prybar to get them out.
This assumes that you have removed the passengerside tire, while on a jack stand. once the tire is removed at least one ball joint needs to be removed to allow the spindle housing to move away from the shaft. Remove the big nut in the hub and the rest is an easy In-Out process.

Good luck

I have a 2004 dodge ram 2500 4x4 . the front drive shaft has a ball kit in it . how do i replace this and how does it work?

If it is the tipical cvshaft you must replace the whole shaft if you have the old style straight axle you have to take the four wheel assembly apart remove the rotor assembly this means that in some Dodges you have to have the bearing unpressed and a new bearing installed when you change the universal joint in the wheel shaft good luck these are tuff to do

I own a hd50spk hitachi...what drill bits are universal across the brands?

there are 2 main types of hammer drill bits, standard and SDS.

standard bits go in a regular style chuck hammer drill

SDS bits have 2 grooves and 2 elongated holes on the shaft which snap into the chuck

I'm not sure which type you have, but to answer, the 2 types are universal within their types

Does anyone know anything about a viscous disk in a drive shaft to a 1999 Jeep grand cherokee?

viscous coupler is inside the transfer case. Failure is not "chronic" but they do fail. Easiest way to make one fail is to use different sized tires front and back (one size at front, different on back. tires do not need to be marked differently as tire actual height varies with manufacturer)...,a one inch difference in height results in a 3inch difference in tire rolling distance. Since all your wheels are connected to a single point, the transfer case, eventually if everything was not permitted to slip, something would snap. With different rolling distances, the coupler needs to slip all the time, which causes it to overheat and fail. Being a mechanical component, they do fail all by themselves sometimes though.

Changing front passenger axle

It is fairly simple, Block your wheels and loosen the lug nuts a little, jack your car up until you have the tire off ground, remove tire, remove the center nut on the tire hub. pull the whole assembly uot and away from the car, let the assembly hang down and push to one side, use something to hold it away from work area, fallow shaft until you come to a support, loosen the support. pull, **** hard shaft towards you. it will take a great effort to loosen the shaft but it should pull loose as one piece. get the new one and put it into the same route as the old shaft. look at entry point into the transmmision make sure that the new shaft has been properly seated, you will feel or hear the spline click into place when properly seated. then follow disassembly instructions. Go to the library if you need pictures and detailed step for step instructions. hope this gets you there.
