When i plug my Zoom 5241 Modem in all lights come on the go off and nothing works... It just started yesterday and i have had it for 3 years and nothing has changed in the network... Is it dead?


Well it might be dead - try these two steps:

1. Unplug the modem and leave it unplugged for at least a minute, then plug it back in.
2. If that does no good, try the RESET button on the back, using a paper clip or pen point. The reset will probably only work while the lights are still on - so try to press in the button pretty quick.

I used to type in 10.0.0.2 and recieve (enter) before with blocks stating admin user to be fiied in, this does not happen anymore why?


Please hard reset the modem by inserting any pin or pen in that reset hole. Before doing that make sure that you have all settings ready to enter it again in your modem page.

Zoom X5 ADSL modem doesn't autodetect


All modem has a reset button on the back of them. Hold in on it for about minute. Then when the modem reboots input all of your information back in.

I have the Zoom X6 (5590) DSL Modem, trouble using software


You may check the following:

1. Make sure to plug the power cube into a power strip or wall outlet and then plug the power cube's other end into the modem's power (PWR) jack.

2. You should only use the power cube with the Zoom X6. Other power cubes may damage your hardware.

3. Try another wall outlet.

4. Reset the modem. Use a paper clip and insert it into the RESET pinhole in the modem's back panel and press it 3 times. Then turn off the modem for a minute and turn it back on. Check if the power light will turn solid green.

5. Possible defective modem.

Lost user name and password for configuration manager


You ADSL Modem's default username is admin and password is zoomadsl, If you have changed before you can reset the the device so default username and password will work. for further information you can check link below

Zoom X5 broken after firmware update


same happened to me, but i definitively put the new firmware. I send the modem back to support and got a new one.

maybe you can try to reset the modem in the very short, 2 to 4 seconds, startup procedure.

i had to do that, because i messed with the dhcp address table.

Zoom x6 reset back button does not work


it will work, you have to hold the button in for around 60 secs

I trashed the Zoom modem and get an Actiontec. This is the second Zoom modem that I have had that bit the dust.

Red LIght on the Power Light


If its solid red its possible that there is something wrong either with the firmware of the device or it's already faulty. Aside from rebooting your router, you can also reset it for 15-20 sec and check if the power light will be green again. Doing the reset will erase all of the setting you have set on the router. In case after a couple of reset and the router still has a red power light then you can call your router manufacturer if they have other options or if you really need to get a new router.
