Open Question

Manual I cannot find my manual and cannot find how to empty the unit. My hose that normally drained the unit continuously had fallen out so this is the first time I've had to do this.

Hose connected but not draining and bucket filling

I am also an air conditioning tech, with same problem and same soleus dehumidifier problem. you must remove the plug and install the drain line hose adapter. Hose must lay flat and have no "hills" for water to drain. With this done pull your drain pan out and set aside. look under right side facing the dehumidifier and you will see a small spout. Has a lip like a little tea pot. Plug that spout. I used a foam ear plug used in work shops. Now give the front of dehumidifier a slight rise on front wheels about the thickness of a pies of cardboard 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch. Now put drain pan back in an start up. The problem is the drain pan was made with very little differance in pitch between the the hose drain and the bucket drain. Remember to check your drain hose periodically and the air filter also. Good luck

For 3 yrs. the condensate drained from the unit just fine out of the drain hose . Recently it has been filling the bucket by condensating just above the bucket , and dripping into the bucket , which...

The hose may not be blocked, Ed. But the unit's hose connection and tubing may be.To solve the problem do the following:

Using an appropriately sized, 18" long, plastic Zip Tie, carefully insert the tip of Zip Tie into the hose connection & tubing. Continue to push it in until you reach a bend in the tubing. You will need to gingerly work the Zip Tie past this bend, until it either bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Then slowly pull the Zip Tie back out while rotating (twisting) it. This will breakup any clogs. As you reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared, as some water may follow. Reconnect the hose plug the unit in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Set the humidity extraction level to 35% or Maximum if you have a manually controlled unit. Allow the unit to run, while you monitor the hose for water flow.

NOTE: If you don't have a Zip Tie, you may use something similar ( i.e.a long pipe cleaner), but NO wire coat hangers
.

I hope this helped you solve the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

I have a hose hooked up in the back to continually drain water but it isn't working. I have to keep emptying the water. How do I get it to work? And if I take out the plug water leaks everywhere.

The problem you're facing is either a clog in the drain hose or a clog in the hose connector's tubing.

The drain hose is an easy one to insect and clean, if necessary. For the hose connector tubing, you need to do the following.

Turn the unit OFF & Unplug it.

Using an appropriately sized, 18" long, plastic Zip Tie, carefully insert the tip of Zip Tie into the hole or tubing. As you reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared, as some water may follow.Reconnect the drain hose, plug the unit in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Set the humidity extraction level to 35% or Maximum if you have a manually controlled unit. Allow the unit to run, while you monitor it for drainage thru the hose.

NOTE: If you don't have a Zip Tie, you may use something similar ( i.e.a long pipe cleaner), but NO wire coat hangers

Hope this helped you solve the problem. P;ease let me know. Thanks.

I have a new Frigadaire dehumidifier , 50 pint, which I have connected to a garden hose to be emptied into a drain in our basement. So far, after, two weeks, it fills up with water and we have to...

I'm really surprised that Frigidaire didn't know what the problem was. The drain tubing at the hose connection is clogged or the hose itself is clogged. When this happens, water is diverted to the bucket.

First, turn the unit OFF & unplug it.

The hose clog is easy to solve. Simply remove the hose and either look thru it for light at the other end or blow through it. Make sure the hose is no longer than 5 feet.

To clear a clog in the drain hose connector, you will need an 18" long plastic Zip Tie or something similar (NO wire coat hangers, though) that is appropriately sized to fit in the hose connector tubing.

Carefully insert the Zip Tie and continue to insert it, until you reach a bend in the tubing. You will need to gingerly work the Zip Tie past this bend, until the Zip Tie bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Slowly remove the Zip Tie while rotating (twisting) it. This will dislodge any clogs. As you each the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared for some water to follow.

Completing the above, should solve the problem. Then call Frigidaire and tell them how to solve the problem.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

How do i make it continue to run with no bucket so it does not fill and and so i don't have to empty it

Attach a length of garden hose no longer than 5 feet, to the threaded drain hose connection that was supplied with your unit, to carry water to the drain.
1. Remove the drain-hole cover on the back left side of your unit.
2. Connect a garden hose to the threaded drain hose connector.
3. Push hose connector tightly to the drain-hole on Rear Grille with the arrow on the tab pointing UP.
The hose attachment will accept a standard garden hose fitting.
Do not over tighten the hose when connecting it to the hose connector,
use a rubber washer and tighten by hand firmly without stripping the
plastic threads.
When being attached to hose connector drain hose connection,
do not bend or kink the hose. The hose should lie flat from the
dehumidifier to the drain.

I own a Whirlpool Dehumidifer Model Number AD 70USS1. I have a drain hose connected to the unit, however, recently the unit's internal collection bucket fills with water to the point that the...

superstee - You're having to empty it because either the drain hose you have connected to the unit is clogged or the drain hole a the hose connection is clogged. Therefor, the water is drained into the tank, rather than the drain hose. Also, the drain hose would not be any longer than 5' and must drain down, as the dehumidifier does not have a pump. It relies totally on gravity.

Remove the hose and check it for clogs. If clear check the drain hose connection, using an 18" long appropriately sized Zip Tie. Carefully insert the Zip Tie and continue to push it in until you reach the bend in the tubing. Gingerly work past this bend, until the Zip Tie bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. The while slowly pulling it out, rotate the Zip Tie. This will dislodge the clog. As you reach the end of the Zip Tie removal, be prepared for some water to follow. CAUTION: BEFORE DOING ANY OF THE ABOVE TURN THE MASTER ON/OFF SWITCH TO OFF AND UNPLUG THE UNIT.

The above should solve the problem for you. Please let me know. Thanks.

Is it possible to attach a hose to drain the water continuously without my having to empty the bucket every day? If so where and how do I do that? Thank you.

The easiest way is to put a hole in the bucket( by using a a hole saw) and attach a pvc fitting(male adapter with a rubber washer and nut) and hook a hose or pvc pipe that will drain the unit of its water. Good Luck

Attached a pump to drain collected water. The

the water should still collect into the tank. the dehumidifier had a float switch that shut the unit off when the tank is full. In turn it should have a second switch, probably a float switch that turns the pump on and off so that the pump doesnt continue to run when there is no moisture in the tank

Haier 30 pint dehumidifier continuous drain problem.

Many just attach the hose at the reservoir; from your description, Haier apparently has a separate location. Check that the point that the hose attaches has an opening (many don't, they expect you to drill it). It should then drain through gravity. Check to make sure that no part of the drain hose is higher than the bottom of the reservoir, otherwise it can't drain. It won't siphon because each time the the tank empties, the suction is broken and the siphoning can't continue.
