My underwater lights when I wire directly to the battery the wire gets hot

Hi Buddy:
The lights will be drawing more power than the wire is rated for.
I'd suggest that you increase the wire size, or use smaller bulbs.

Why are people so against using fishing nets to catch shrimp and other seafood?

This is because these nets drag along the ocean floor and can destroy underwater eco systems. They kill coral and unintentionally catch fish that is not wanted.

When useing under water the shutter was so slow, when frameing a shot of a fish. By the time the shutter operated the fish was gone. can we lock the focus so it takes the picture quicker.

By pressing the shutter button half-way until the camera "beeps", you lock in the focus. However, underwater in a waterproof housing, I'm not sure you can hear the beep.

Is there anyway to make my underwater pictures better if I do not presently have a red filter. Can you suggest a program that I might be able to use?

Please set the manual white balance on your IC800 while you are underwater, especially at depths below 20 ft and reset it every 20 feet deeper. PLease refer to your IC800 manual. SETTING FOR UNDERWATER PHOTOS USING A CYBER-SHOT DSC-W220

Under water scene selection mode in the camera is to capture the images of the objects inside the water like fish etc. It gives a clear picture of the objects under water unlike other modes. It does not mean that the camera is water proof and you can insert the camera in water and capture images. If you have any further questions, please reply. Regards
