Why does the heat strip in my kenmore heat/cool window unit, heats all the time, you can see the red glow through the condenser. I would be happy if I could just unplug the strip and use ac

It's probably controlled by a small switching relay or a control/circuit board with a switch/relay, that has stuck closed or been fused together.

Can a pro recommend a comperable replacement wall AC only-no heat?

Most air conditioners now are reverse cycle, which means that they can heat as well as cool. Cooling only units were popular many years ago due to the price difference for a reverse cycle. Today, the cost of manufacturing has dropped and it has resulted in cooling only units being virtually finished. I would suggest you get a local air con sales company to come to your house to measure up properly and determine what would be best. There are a lot of factors in installing air conditioning. IE/ The size of the house, the area it will be required to heat / cool, the amount of windows, types of walls, roof etc (Heat loading on the house) Roof and wall insulation etc etc.

Ve a kenmore ac heat combo model # 58075184500 that the cord was pulled away from the outlet and melted both just slightly. I replaced the wall outlet but the unit seems to have low voltage to it. the fan...

Before doing anything elese I would replace that cord also... it may have damaged to cord too...

Make sure to get a heavy enough replacement cord so it does not burn up again...

Kenmore 110 ac model 25370156000

sounds like 1 of 2 problems. first, check the condensor coil for dust, dirt, lint on the inside of the unit. this is the coil thats on the back of the unit that is outside. it can be sprayed out with a garden hose. make sure the unit is unplugged and let it drain for a hour or so. if the coil is not dirty, then the unit has developed a freon leak and needs to be serviced.

Reverse unit. Heater only blows air, not warm air

If you have a reverse cycle unit (heat pump) your compressor and your fan should be running. You need to determine if your compressor is running.
