There is something wrong with my flash screen. It's Black. Everytime I try to take pictures on My Finepix z fujifil blue digital camera the screen goes black, and when I go to see what I took a picture...

Flash screen? What? You mean even in pictures with flash disabled (and the flash does drag down the electronics in the thing; make a replacement using an LED lamp and circuit if you have a chance) it takes no picture and leaves you with a black LCD? Are you indeed using a good battery (they go bad gradually (depending on the case on how many times you fire the flash!)) New battery first!

Everytime i take a picture, it shows up black. The flash still goes off, but once I go to review the picture it is just a black screen.

hi, i think the CMOS is faulty and not picking up the pictures, if the cam is still in warranty you might be lucky, else it might cost you as much as the new cam.

I'm going to assume the pictures you have on the camera are not worth keeping. I'm going to assume you have the owners manual so the first thing I'd like your to do is check to make sure the SD card is unlocked here is a diagram.
Next I would like your to format the memory SD card page 40 of your manual here is the best diagram I can provide.
Once this has been completed turn the Main Dial page 16 to "P" program and the camera will begin making correct pictures.
If you are inside and a flash is needed use the button on the forward side of the camera the one with the lightning bolt an the internal flash will pop up and charge. Look through the viewfinder and partially (half depress) the shutter button look for your green dot in focus indicator and the green lightning bolt to come on (when the flash is in use) compose your picture and depress the shutter button the rest of the way. You have just made a picture. Study your manual and have fun with your new camera

Monitor goes black

It always does that while it's powering up the flash again. If you're saying it doesn't come back after a few more seconds, that is a problem. Or maybe by that time, the power saver kicks in. You can tell if the power light starts blinking. Then you just have to press the shutter button again to turn it back on.

Flash problem

The CCD element has been a great problem in this camera along with a faulty iris in the lens. I would return the camera to the Sony facility in Laredo, TX and let them know the exact symptom you are having. I see many of these cameras being repaired as a "courtesy" because of the widespread problem. Good Luck to you! Joe Weibel Custom Electronics (

No pictures recorded/black screen

it seems that shutter blades are stucked and are not working. when you say shutter is fully open i think you are talking about the lense cover, not the internal shutter assembly. the red light is the indication of OUT OF FOCUS SUBJECT OR FLASH NOT READY. if the shutter blades aare not open the camera would not be able to do the focusing and will flash the red light thus you would not get any image. contact the repairer.
