It is not a user repairable problem. Contact any service technician. Products powered by electricity should be serviced or repaired only by experienced professional technicians. Any attempt to service or repair the product by anyone else could result in serious injury or death. If you are not familiar with electronics, do not attempt to repair. Whether you suffer fatal electrical shock. Instead, contact the nearest service centre.

My toshiba plasma tv has sound but no picture.

Hello,

the problem is from the picture board of your television. Its not functioning, and that's why there is no picture or display on your TV.

Take the TV to a local repairer within your vicinity, so that the fault can be fixed. The picture board will either be repaired or changed completely, depending on the extent of fault/damage.

Good luck.

The sound is terrible on our video downloads from the Kodak Zi6 but absolutely fine when shown on our TV.

You mean the sound form the speaker on the Zi6 is distorted?
You can have that repaired under your warranty, but if it sounds fine on the TV all indicates that the recording function works fine.
Often the sound from a small handheld device isn't as fine as from a larger speaker system, it will never sound as goood as from a dif. device than the camera even after a repair.

Power on problem

Many of the later model Sony TV?s have a built in self-diagnosis function. AKB circuit (automatic kine bias), the timer/standby indicator blinks 5 times for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. In other words, the IC chips on the Cboard are burned out. This repair is not one that should be attempted by the end user. This repair will need special test equipment. You will need to take it in for repair. It shouldn't cost more than $170-$200. This is cheaper than a new TV set.
