The fans generally are not controlled by the user. If you post the model number, I can check, Noise means that it is either becoming dry on the spindle or it is becoming very dirty.

SOURCE: Core fan Abnormal - Fan Speed 0 rpm - System slowdown

Well, since you connected your fan directly to the power supply, you are not getting any feedback thru the graphics card interface. This doesn't mean there is a problem since your fan is running full speed all the time, it is actually better and you should be able to see a difference on the GPU temperature.
If the GPU temperature is still too high and the fan is running at full speed, did you apply a thin coat of thermal paste on the heatsink? if not, there is your problem.

Now just to be clear did you connect the fan to the power supply or to a spare motherboard connector. If you connected to your motherboard, you need to go in the BIOS and change some settings regarding the fan speed (let me know if this is the case and I'll help you further about that.)

SOURCE: i have a asus 7200 gs 256mb graphic card my pc keep restarting

Your PC keeps restarting because while playing your video card is highly solicited, and this causes overheating. The solution to your issue is to buy a cooling fan and attach it to the cooling grid.

If this solution worked for you please rate it. If you require further assistance feel free to post a followup comment.

Got this PC as a gift. After two months of developing a large Android-based application project and playing high performing games on the computer, I have found out that the graphics card has already malfunctioned(Overheats), causing the PC to restart! Now get this, I called ASUS once and the person on the other line told me to back up a large hard drive to CD's.....seriously.The next day I called I told them that even Videos, Unity Pro, and Games on the PC simply restarted it over and over again. So what I was told is to by to a System recovery and go back in time on the computers main hard drive. Did not fix the restart issue.

Fixing the noisy fan a8ne-fm

ok     i did this two days ago and it worked for me. 1  Turned off psu 2  Opened the case 3  remove graphics card from pci-e slot 4  unplug the small circular fan in the bottom corner of motherboard.  5  unscrew the cover on the top of the fan 6  clean in the fan/heatsink with scewdriver whatever 7  get your screwdriver under the plastic fan bit and raise it slightly from its heatsink     only a little tiny bit though.      8 leave the top cover OFF 9   plug fan back in and install graphics card 10 power on at psu
It worked for me no noise and have been playing cod4 quite a bit

I have dual GTX 570 video Cards & I keep getting a Red Warning Error in my ASUS Smart Dr saying that the chipset is overheating contact asus so i just shut down the pc,... tried both the auto fan and...

Make sure your other fans are running also and make sure the inside of your tower is clean, no dust build up in heat sinks etc. You can also set your fan(s) on the card run manually through the Smart Doctor. What does it say the temp is? You also may want to try to uninstall then re-install the Smart Doctor and set it up again with the manual fan speed at max. Click on the settings tab, then on "fan control" tab. At the top, click on the box "manual control" then, drag the tab over with mouse to adjust fan speed faster.
Good luck,
Dave

Just purchased ASUS Essentio Desktop PC - model CM1630. Salesperson gave me the impression there are built in speakers, but I have yet been able to hear sound. HELP, please!

Base on the specification of the Asus Essentio CM1630, it doesn't have a built-in speaker for multimedia listening.

Mostly, built-in speakers that came with the computer are only for knowing the beep codes of your motherboard. To know if is it starting up or there are errors on your computer.

I would suggest getting a pair of speaker to easily resolve this issue.

You can also try to connect an earphone or headset to try if there is any problem with the sound card of your computer. Just connect any earphone or headset that you might have and see if you can hear any sound.

I reguarly have a loss of signal to my moniter after changing to windows 7. It has also recently developed a problem where it will freeze an application for roughly 10-20 seconds.

You need to update your graphics driver to accommodate win7.

If graphics are integrated on your motherboard - go to the ASUS website, if its an accellerator or pci card go to the card manufacturers webs site. Follow links for support and downloads, your driver should be available there.

hi not really, the reason why the fan is on there is to stop the gpu from overheating, this will include normal running of the card, so really would be advisable to replace it.hope this helps

How to install a dual monitor graphics card for the ASUS Essentio CS5111

Open the case of the computer.

Make sure you are always touching an unpainted metal surface of the case of your computer to ensure static discharge so that you do not damage any sensitive components in your computer.

Remove the old graphics card and unplug any cable connected to it. Remember which cables you unplugged as you will need these. (sometimes it helps to take a photo)

Install the new dual graphics card into the pc by placing it where the previous graphics card was and re-plug the cables you took out.

Replace the case and install any drivers that came with the graphics card. If no drivers came with it, type the name and model of the graphics card into Google and find the site from the vendor. These always contain drivers for graphics cards.

Finally, go to Start->Control Panel->Display Properties and make sure both screens are enabled.

Will i have to increase my fan speed?????

Hey,

The fan speed of the video card is controller by the bios on the card or by the driver used by windows.

You can try asus smartdoctor and see if you can adjust it on that.
but looking at the picture of the product you have selected, it would seem this one has a passive cooler, no fan.

But have a look at Asus SmartDoctor and see if that fits your need. http://www.asus.com/999/html/share/2/icon/11/index.htm

Thanks,
Ekse
