Engine still running after ignition off and keys removed

I had this problem once with a Daewoo. The cause was the wiring for the car stereo system. It had a relay in it that could lock open if you played music loud for a while because it got hot. The back emf was not stopped by the relay so it diverted power to the ignition. The relay had failed inside when it got hot.
Locate the relays in the car. There may be two or three kinds, depending on number of pins etc. Locate the ignition relay and see if there is another one that is identical (if not buy a new ignition relay) Swap over an identical relay with the iginition relay, see if it fixes it. If it does replace ALL the relays with Bosch relays, do not use Siemens relays, they do handle back emf very well.

New starter, battery good, all lights on dash come on but when I turn the key to start the car, I get no sound at all from the starter. So what is the problem? Also, does this 1996 Toyota Corolla...

There is a 12 volt signal from the ignition switch to the starter relay ! Start by having someone turn the ignition to start and with a test light on the small wire at starter see if it lights up with the ignition cylce at start ! Second -locate the starter relay in the fuse block and swap it with another same style relay and see if it will turn over ! I believe the computer is behind the glove box on that year ! You can follow the large harness in the engine compartment to the bulkhead and that will tell you where in the interior the computer is ! Hope this helps !

My 1985 cad elarodo wont start. it has a new battery new alternater, new starter dont know what else it could be.

Hi, I'm assuming you car does not crank. If it does crank, please ignore the advice below and get back to me with what it does when you turn the key.
There is a relay in the circuit for your security system. Make sure the security light is not on. Then try swapping that relay with another similar relay, such as the horn relay. The relay is either in the engine compartment or the trunk relay box.
If this works, replace the relay.
If this doesn't work, the problem may be your ignition switch. You can test the switch and wiring by interrogating the relay socket with a 12 volt test light. connect the test light clip to a ground point on the engine or chassis and probe the relay socket with the tip of the light. There should be one hot terminal with the key off and 2 hot terminals with the key turned to start. If you don't get 2 hot terminals with the key turned to start, the ignition switch or wire from the switch is bad.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

New batrery, no spark, no fuel. pulled front bank of plugs not sign of fuel or hear from spark. Just replaced a top coolant hose that was leaking. Engine turns over strong.

try swapping your PCM power relay with another relay in the relay box (engine compartment by the battery).
The PCM relay powers the fuel and ignition systems, as well as the PCM. Let me know if this doesn't work or you have more questions.

The starter is gud and strong but it keeps turning the engine over and the key is in my hand out of the ignition

You've got a short or the ignition switch is faulty. Run your hand over any power wire to see if you have any hot spots. This is where the short is. Also the starter may be good but the starter solinoid may be shorting in which case change the solinoid. Good luck!

Fuel pump not geting power

CHECK THE INERTIA SWITCH FIRST , IT'S LOCATED BEHIND THE PASSENGER SIDE KICK PANEL THERE IS A ACCESS HOLE TO CHECK RESET BUTTON.. CHECK FOR POWER AT THE TERMINALS WHILE THERE ...THE FUEL PUMP WILL RECIEVE POWER FOR 2 SECONDS WHEN IGNITION IS TURNED ON IF NO POWER (12VOLTS) CHECK FUEL PUMP RELAY IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT RELAY BOX , IF NEEDED SWAP RELAYS AND RETEST , ALSO THE POWER RELAY SUPPLIES VOLTAGE TO PCM WHICH IN TURN ENERGIZES FUEL PUMP RELAY SO CHECK BOTH RELAYS ALSO

HOPE THIS HELPS

Random surges interrupt electrical system. When stopped, car stalls immediately and all warning lights come on. While driving, car hesitates and goes through an extremely fast restart with check engine...

the ignition switch itself,or the ignition relay is bad.the ignition relay is in the fuse box under the hood.swap it with another relay with the same number.another thing you could do is run 12v from the battery to the pin that is activated by the relay when it is turned on.This will power up the cluster and if the car stays running fine, the ignition switch or the wiring from it to the relay is bad.The crank sensor failure will set off a check engine light as the pcm will detect a variation in engine rpm and set a p300 random misfire code,or the code for the crank sensor.

Blower motor does not turn off. stays on when switch is off or ignition switch is off

this sounds like a relay problem. the relay box is normally located right next to the battery. check in the relay box. you might be able to swap with the headlight to troubleshoot. normally you can swap
