PS3 No Signal When Switch To HD

Hey Everyone. Its my 1st post on this forum. So i'm having some trouble with my PS3. The problem is that when i switch to 720p or 1080p on my lcd it says "No Signal". I have 32 inch Samsung HDTV. It was working fine but this problem occurred few days ago. I've also tried A/v component cable and i also changed HDMI cable but whenever i switch to HD i get same message. PS3 works fine on 480p whether it is HDMI cable or component cable. I've tried everything. I've reset my whole PS3, I've also done 8 sec pressing button thing and i even updated my HDTV's Firmware. HDTV is working fine. I've hooked up my laptop through HDMI connection and its working on FULL HD. So please suggest me any solution. Is it my HDTV or PS3?

SOURCE: cannot output 1080p with a full hd 1080p hdtv

In the settings menu, go to video settings. You can have the PS3 search for "optimal settings" This will tackle both video & audio.
On a side note, you didn't need to spend all that money a HDMI cable. ( I'll bet it's a 'Monster' cable, right? ) The $16 Phillips at walmart is just as good. Unless your doing "broadcast quality digital" work, the expensive cables are overkill. Sorry, bro.

SOURCE: PS3 wont go 1080i/720p

I don't think there is a way to set your resolution manually, bro. They do it all by auto. If I may make a suggestion... Turn off both the TV & PS3. Unplug your HDMI, then make sure both your TV & PS3 are turned ON. Now re-connect your HDMI. A TV tech once told me that these units "communicate" through the HDMI. This can only occure whilst they're up & running. This may help get you going on to 1080i.
p.s. PS3 games only output 720p, max! This isn't always the case for Blu Ray movies, but it is for games. Good luck!

SOURCE: PS3 hdmi only working on some displays

I have noticed using an HDMI cable that with some of the newer tvs you have to set up the tv also to enable HDMI for a game system. Like you said before internet tv and blueray dvd player work fine. Try adjusting the settings on the tvs themselves. I have a 50in DLP mitsubishi, and had a very troubling time getting my ps3 to work on that particular tv set while it worked flawlessly on other sets. And what I had to do was enter my tv setup menu and then power on my ps3 with both my AV and HDMI cables connected, it would pick up the AV first. Then I would alter the video settings on the PS3 for HDMI, and unplug the AV cable. Exit the tv menu and then reenter it. Then I had to setup my HDMI port from the tv to game in order for it to work, where you can set options ar usually like cable/dvd/sat, and so on. Without my TV being set to game that way it would not work. Try this and see if it helps. Good Luck.

Hey everyone I'm having a bit of trouble with my

Possible failure of the power supply- auxiliary supply to the front panel. Also it can be due to fault in the pre- amp section. In both cases it will necessary to check the voltages to the said areas. This can be tricky and so care must be taken not to damage the working circuit with the probe. try and tighten all connectors, check for DRY solder, tap and check.

Why will my ps3 not workwhen conected via multi-av cable to the RCA jacks?it does work conected to a hd tv via hdmi

When you use an HDMI cable with your PS3, the system is outputting the signal in a digital format. You need to tell it to switch back to displaying in an analog format to use the RCA jacks, otherwise it won't work. To do this, turn off your PS3. Then, once it's off, press and hold down the power button on the system. After a few seconds, it will beep and reset the output signal back to analog. Just make sure only your RCA cables are plugged in when you do this. Hope this helps!

No break lights, high beams, or turn signal lights

Do they work intermittently? Do your low beams go out sometimes when you put on turn signal? Do hazards work sometimes and if you play with switch they work off and on? I just had a problem with headlights would go off if I put on turn signal and if I jiggled the turn lever they would come back on and had trouble with all light working intermittently, brakes, turn and hazard. It was a Turn signal switch problem. The contacts in the switch were bad, all corroded and green when I took it apart. I know you wouldn't think this would affect brake lights but hey all run through this switch because of hazards and high beams. I got a new switch from dealer and all is working great now. Here's a link a link I used for switch replacement instructions. http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f11/write-up-replace-turn-signal-switch-97-xj-620147/
If it isn't a fuse or wiring issue I would look into the switch.

Having trouble playing my Ps3 on a non HD tv after already using it on a HD tv

Hey bro try going down to circuit city, best buy and get the HDMI cord that converts to a Component cable on the opposite end. You can do this as long as the back of the non H/D tv has the Component Inputs on the back of the TV. If that does not work get the HDMI cable that converts on the opposite end to a S Video signal and connect that end to the S Video input on the back of your tv. I have seen these cables at circuit city in the playstation section. Again on one end of the cable it has your HDMI input to connect to your ps3 and on the opposite end of the cable it has the S video plug to run to the back of your tv and plug it into the S Video input. Same thing can be said for the HDMI on one end of the cable and the Component cables on the opposite end to run to the back of your tv. This will work if you find those cables. Good Luck.
