Question about Brother ML-300 Typewriter

New Cartridge Will Not Drop

We installed a new cartridge in an ML-300 and not the print cartridge will not drop down to near the print wheel. I have tried the control Q (reset) with no luck. When you turn on the typewriter it will only move to the left side and make a few noises and then start beeping. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I checked the print hammer and it sits in the same spot as another working brother typewriter. I tried pushing it ahead more and it did not change anything. Any other ideas?

Make sure the print hammer is pushed forward as far as possible so that it is latched

Print cartridge maintenance

After removing the print cartridges from the printer, it is necessary to follow basic care and maintenance guidelines to keep them from drying out. The following guidelines will help maintain HP inkjet print cartridges and ensure consistent print quality.
Do not reattach the plastic tape that covered the ink nozzles since this can damage the nozzles.
Store the print cartridge(s) in a print cartridge protector or airtight plastic container. If the cartridge is stored in an airtight plastic container, make sure the nozzles face down and are not in contact with the container. Do not use plastic bags: this may damage the print cartridges.
Placing a moist paper towel in the airtight container may help to keep the cartridges from drying out.
A print cartridge protector is provided with the photo print cartridge.
To insert the cartridge into this protector, slide the cartridge at a slight angle into the protector and snap it securely in place.
To remove the cartridge, press down and back on the top of the protector to release the cartridge. Slide the cartridge out of the protector.
Do not drop the print cartridge since it could be damaged.

I do not know how to replace the ink in my canon ip2600.

Open up printer cover. Search for button on printer with ink drop printed on it or near it. Press that button, and print head will move to position from where you can change ink cartridges. To get one cartridge out, pull a small lever on cartridge end and it will pop out. To put new cartridge in, just get it into position and click it in.

I just installed a new color cartridge for an HP 5650 Deskjet printer but it only prints in black. I'm printing from a MacBook, OS 10.6.6

Hi, Try printing whatever you were wanting to print but click the drop down arrow right next to the printer selection tab. Then you should see a drop down menu about halfway down the menu, click it and select print settings. You should see another drop down menu called color, just click it and change it from grayscale to color.
Hope this helps, Justin

Lexmark X3650 all-in-one Printer, have refilled colour cartridge with inkjet refill kit but still indicates low-ink level, and will not function. Do I need a resetter?

Go to all in one program
at the top left click on Maintain\Troubleshoot
Right window click on Device Status And Ink Levels
that will open a new window
Click on The button that looks like 4 different colored ink drops
Click on Install a new print cartridge
Click on Next
Now you should be in Select The cartridge installed
Open lower drop down window and click on No its new
Follow the prompts from there or click OK
This should fix the problem.

Epson CX8400 ink cartridges run out early

Epson gives you a miserable 12 ml of ink. Then it reports empty when there is still 10-15% of the ink left. I saw someone set up a brand new CX8400, print a single 4x6 photo and it said he was out of cyan. I use reusable cartridges from They hold 20 ml, which is 2/3 more ink. The chips automatically reset to full if you take the cartridge out and put it back in, so you get to use every drop. The ink is in a separate container inside the main cartridge. When it's really empty, you pop out the ink tank and pop in a new one. The tanks are under $3 each. I think this is brilliant because it's like refilling only it avoids the risks and mess of refills.

Samsung printer ML 2510 series

Maybe the toner is low... According to the manual, a blinking red light:

• A minor error is occurring and
the printer is waiting for the error
to be cleared. When the problem
is cleared, the printer resumes
• The toner cartridge is low. Order
a new toner cartridge. You can
temporarily improve print quality
by redistributing the toner. See
page 8.3.
• The toner is totally exhausted.
Remove the old toner cartridge
and install a new one. See page
• The toner cartridge reached the
end of its life.

New cartridge won't work; old cartridge works (and re-instals) fine.

Check if the Toner is all the way in, you should hear a click, if not then something wrong or you installed it incorrectly.

i had that issue before, i didn't push it all the way in. and it whirrs but doesn't print.
