My 2430DL printer prompted for the blck toner to be replaced as it was empty. I replaced the toner with a brand new out of the box toner, but the Toner Empty Black message stays on. I followed the instruction to press the Cancel button, but the message remains. Please help. Thanks.

1.Log on to your computer and print a test page to the printer. Click on the "Start" button, choose "Control Panel" and then "Printers and Faxes." Right-click on the laser printer, choose "Properties" from the drop-down menu and click the "Print test page" box.
2.Look at the quality of the print on the finished page. If the print is light or faded, the ink cartridge is probably empty or at least empty enough that it should be replaced. You can try to get some extra life out of your toner cartridge by taking it out of the printer, shaking it vigorously and putting it back in. Under normal printing loads, this can give you one to three days of additional printing capacity.
3.Open the printer cover and carefully pull out the toner cartridge. Set the cartridge aside while you open the box containing the new toner. Pull the new toner out but do not yet remove any of the packaging materials. Compare the weight of the new toner with the old one. If the old toner is very light, it is nearly empty and should be replaced.
I replaced my ink cartridge, but the LCD is still displaying "Ink Empty". What can I do?
This is typically caused by an incorrect selection made during the LCD prompting after a cartridge is replaced. When an ink cartridge(s) is replaced, the LCD will ask, "Have you removed Blck? 1 Yes 2 No". This question will be asked for ALL 4 colors in sequence, regardless if the color was replaced. If "1 Yes" is NOT selected for the color(s) that was replaced, the LCD will return to "Ink Empty". Do the following to clear the message:
Pull the scanner cover release lever located below the control panel and lift the top cover.
After 15 seconds, re-close the top cover and then re-close the control panel cover.
The LCD will then display Have you removed Blck? 1 Yes 2 No. The LCD will display this question for ALL 4 colors (not just the ones replaced). BE SURE to select 1 YES for each ink cartridge that was replaced. If 1 Yes is selected, the LCD will then display Change to new (color)? 1 Yes 2 No. Again, BE SURE to select 1 YES.
"Change to new (color)?" will only appear if 1 Yes is selected for "Have you removed (color)?" If 2 NO is selected for the "removed" question, the LCD will then move on to the question for the next color.
There are many problems like that and its not recommended to change toner from one printer to another. but you should try: put the old toner (emty) in again, then turn off the printer, change toner and turn on printer again. if thats not helping, then maybe you have a old FW so you can try to update the firmware.
My Konica 2430DL does this every time I start the printer, I am quite sure it is supposed to do this as I it rotating the toner and calibrating itself. On one occasion I recently had the status monitor say to install cartridge... I removed it, shook it, reinstalled it with the same results. I just purchased a new Konica brand toner, replacing the old one and 'voila' sucess! It still does the little dance (rotation) every time, but it always has, but after installing the new toner the message went away. If you reinstalled the toners, this may be your problem - you need all new toners; spendy but it should solve your problem, otherwise; if you've already done this, I don't have an answer. Good Luck!
