V3424au presario notebook update

I have a compaq presario v3424au notebook which was preinstalled with a vista home basic ed. however i am not satisfied with the vista performance and want to install xp professional ed. however the problem is that all the drivers of wi-fi, sound device, bios, nvidia geforce 6150 go, etc are bundled with the os itself. these drivers are also not available on the hp site. wen i use this drivers provided with the vista os, the do not detect the hardware or are not compatible with xp. what should i do to completely transfer my notebook to xp pro ed

This is possible but will take some patience. Install Windows XP & Service Pack 2 Then check what drivers are NOT installed by going to device manager. Then go the the Compaq page that lists the drivers for Vista: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=2093&lc=en&cc=uk&dlc=en&product=3446906&lang=en Make a note of the name/model of these drivers and search for the XP equivelent usually by visitng the device manufacturers website. Im sorry this is complicated and long winded but its the only way.

If it is original laptop with preinstalled Windows Vista then your product key is underneath on sticker. Just flip over your laptop.

My laptop model is Compaq Presario V3424AU with Windows Vista Home Basic preloaded. I've changed it to Windows XP3. My motherboard is AMD Turion 64. After changing the OS I can't hear sound from my laptop....
try downloading the sound driver from xp3

Your note book is locked in for your video & your sound.
Well everything about your Presario V3424AU notebook is wraped wall to wall Vista.
Would consider you call HP/Compaq & ***** about Vista. Toggle a deal to replace notebook with XP installed. I gather you haven't had this notebook for a year as of yet?
This is what I would do.
I can not find enough drivers for win XP to function on this notebook.
