Open Question

120V to 240V conversion

I just obtained a used viking spa, but unfortunately not the manual with it. Balboa model #WH-LITELD-CCAJ. trying to switch from 120V to 240V. Have moved the redwire as instructed on the inside of the panel cover, but cannot locate the pin to move (heater mode selector) any instructions appreciated.

SOURCE: Hayward Navigator Pool Cleaner Will Not Move

The problem is that you have too much play in your drivetrain. You will need to check for movement between the pod and the a-arm and then between the a-arm and turbine. It would also be a good idea to check the turbine bearings. Find the loose fitting, worn part and that is your problem. As far as it not twisting on the end of the hose; this is most likely caused by the screen on the back of the unit being obstructed by debris or the gearbox assembly being jammed by debris that got through the screen or is just worn out. If you have any mechanical abilty you shoud be able to do these repairs yourself with the help of a downloadabe exploded diagram. If not call a pool repairman the parts are not really that expensive compared to the cost of a new unit.

Pull the cover off the control panel. You will probably find a button which would be accessible from outside the panel with a paper clip or pencil but is unlabeled. On the board itself by the button, in small letters it should say "reset". Push the button and see what happens.

240v circuit to 120v pool pump

Listen - you had three wires feeding your old 240 volt pump. Two were hot and one was a ground. To run your new 120 volt motor just connect one of the two hots to the motor along with the ground. Cap off the remaining hot wire so nada bad happens and you are good to go.

I need a users manual for the BalcoaValue 3 stystem, as I bought a house with a Great Lakesspa and I have no clue as to how to use the control. I need, specifically, to know how to adjust the temperature...

First and foremost, there really is no such thing as a Value 3 System by Balboa. Balboa has a large line of systems with various names such as Value Pack Retrofit kits, VS, ES, GS, and our new LM8000 systems. If you can locate your product part number on your system, you can visit the Balboa Direct website manual downloaded section at: BALBOA DIRECT MANUALS and download the latest manual for your product.

Hope that helps.

How to wire model t10004 control panel intermatic inc? I am just looking for a picture of the wiring diagram. All I need to do is hook up a the wiring for the light.

T10004 control panel has 240V T104 timing mechanism.

1) You can use T104 timer to control 120volt light if you have a neutral wire:
http://waterheatertimer.org/images/T-104-control-120V-Load3-45.jpg

2) Lights are usually 120Volts with black hot wire and white neutral wire.
3) T104 timer is 240Volts with two hot wires L1 and L2 that can be white-black wires or red-black wires.

4) Open following link to see basic 120V and 240V circuits.

Fixya answers questions about other people's products.

I specialize in timers.
Intermatic is changing their product line
I suggest you download the manual:
http://www.intermatic.com/~/media/files/intermatic/products/instructions/timers/et104c%20-%20english.ashx

The manual is generic across all the ET100 series products.
The manual does not describe individual models.
The instructions are on the timer door.
Look for the clock voltage.
The clock voltage tells the story of your timer model.

NOW lets say your clock voltage is 120V.
I believe you suspect the clock voltage is 120V.

To make this timer work with your 240V cable, there are 2 methods

Method 1) To meet code, run a white wire from nearby 120V receptacle.
This is a Neutral wire.
Connect the Neutral to terminal 1
Connect one leg from the 240V cable (1 of the 240V wires) to terminal 2 and that will complete the 120V circuit and the clock will run.
This is true because each leg of a 240V circuit is actually 120V, and only when the two legs are combined do they produce the 240V circuit

Method 2) Connect bare ground wire to terminal 1 and to grounding screw
The bare wire connects to the Neutral busbar in the main breaker box, so it will complete the 120V circuit just as described above.
This is not code, but your clock will operate.
Then connect one leg from the 240V cable to the terminal 2

IF your clock is 240 V, then connect both legs of the 240V cable to terminals 1 and 2

You need to put the system into 'ST' mode. 'SL' stands for 'Sleep' and will prevent your spa from heating.

My hot tub pump will not stop running even after it has reached temperature and completed it's cycle. I have a Balboa Instruments control unit. Any suggestions?

sound like you have the filter cycle set to fc means filters all the time try to push temp button and then pump button. in sequence you want it to be f2 means filters 2hrs every 12 hours

I am trying to connect my new pool motor. I have 3 wires coming out of the box. a black one 120v a white one 120v and a copper (ground). How do I test if it has 240v? How can I connect the motor so works....

Most probable cause is that you have the black and white on the same phase, and that's why you have 120 volts from black to ground and from white to ground, but 0 across black and white. If the motor ran on 120 volts, why are you connecting it to 240?

In any event, in order to get 240 volts, move the white to a circuit breaker that is directly above or below the breaker that feed the black wire. You are supposed to use a 2 pole breaker for 240 volts anyway
