Need an Adobe Reader up-date. My computer refuses to install it, giving me Error code 800B0100. I keep trying whenever their offer appears on screen, but no luck. Perhaps this is not a valid offer....

Hi,

If you are unable to install the automatic update, you can download the latest version of Adobe Reader from: http://get.adobe.com/reader/

On the page which opens, click on the "Download Now" button to start the download process.

Then follow the download and installation instructions on the next page to complete the installation.

Hope this solves your problem. Thanks for using FixYa.

I keep getting error 1612 when I try to update Adobe Reader

Hi, if you keep getting a "error code" from the Adobe Reader; do the following. First, click on the [Start Button], select to open the "Control Panel {shortcut}." In the next window, select the [Uninstall a Program ] applet, next scroll to find the "Adobe Reader" highlight it to "Uninstall." Next, follow the instructions to complete the removal of the program. Once the Adobe Reader, is removed "restart the computer." The next thing to do is "Reinstall the Adobe Reader," click on this site to get the "Download" of the New Software. Once the installation of Adobe is completed; "restart the computer again!" "Let me know if all went well by giving a "helpful rating, and thanks for using Fix'Ya. http://get.adobe.com/reader/

Hi,
Try this fix,
1.dowload windows installer cleanup utility from the following link.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
Under more information, tab
2. Install and run the same from Start> All programs>windows installer cleanup utility.
3. In the box keep on selecting all items that say adobe and click remove. If you have multiple enteries might need to select them one by one.
4. Click on Start >My computer>Local Disk C:>Program files and delete the adobe folder
5. Restart your computer and again download and install adobe reader , it should work fine .

In case it still does not work and you need to open pdf files download
foxit reader from the following link

Adobe installation

Hooray! Found the solution. Seems the problem is you must have the Adobe Reader 7.0.9 installer on your system to be able to install 8.1.1. You can d/l version 7.0.9 (which includes the installer) here:
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/read...llversions.html
Install the whole thing, then you should be able to install your 8.1.1, which will remove the 7.0.9 version in the process, but will use its installer.
