Where can I get a small part online - no stores locally

I own the Brother cs 8150 machine. I have lost (with my children's help) the disc that covers the spool of thread so that the thread gets caught in the the spool or grabs on the spool itself. Is there a website I can order it from? Thanks!

The Brother home sewing solutions support center can be contacted at:

7777 North Brother Blvd.
Bartlett, Tennessee 38133
1-877-BROTHER (877-276-8437)
901-379-1210 (fax)
9:00am to 5:45pm Eastern Time
They don't list the spool disc part specifically on-line, rather they show accessories you might purchase - but your manual should list the part in the parts diagram, the manual is located here:

http://www.brother-usa.com/ModelDocuments/Consumer/Users%20Manual/UM_CS_8150_EN_183.PDF

The Brother service centers, which could also provide your part, are listed here:

http://www.brother-usa.com/service/default.aspx?WT.cg_n=Support&WT.cg_s=Service

I couldn't look up the one closest to you because doing so requires your zip code!
Hope this gets you on the right path, if you appreciated this information, could you please be so kind to take a minute to rate this solution for me? Thank you!

Gregg

Hi
Manuals for Brother machines are usually available from the Brother site.
http://www.brother-usa.com/manuals/default.aspx?PGID=3
They have one for the CS-8150 but I'm not sure if this is your machine or if the model number is UL273C.
The manual for the CS-8150 is here:
http://www.brother-usa.com/ModelDocuments/Consumer/Users%20Manual/UM_CS_8150_EN_183.PDF
The manual for ULT2001 is here:
http://www.brother-usa.com/ModelDocuments/Consumer/Users%20Manual/UM_ULT_2001_EN_200.PDF
Maybe one of them is similar enough to your machine.
Hope this helps!

My bobbin winder stopped working on my Brother CS-8150. spindle locks in, motor runs, but it seems that the winder is slipping. Can this be adjusted?

I think that I would call Brother at 1-877-276-8437 and ask them if this is a warranty issue. They may have a quick fix for you.

I need to know how to change the bulb on a brother ps 33 sewing machine!

Hi, thank you for using FixYa! I don't see a model PS-33, however; you posted in the CS-8150 machine section, the link to the manual for a CS-8150 machine is attached. It has a section for winding and installing the bobbin and another section for upper threading. If your machine is not the CS-8150, please comment with the correct model number (PS machines start at number 1450 and increment upwards). If this is the correct manual, would you please take minute to rate this solution? Thank you! Gregg

How do I disassemble my Brother CS-8150 to get inside to find a nut that fell in there?

If you or someone you know is mechanically inclined, you will need to take five screws out of the back including a hard to find one under the foot raising lever (lower the foot), then one form the front that is under the thread cartridge, and you will have to remove the bobbin winding plate cover which is held by one small screw, and then remove a small screw from the support bar.

Cannot wind the bobbin

Mine stopped working too. Gave up and wound bobbins by hand for a while until I broke down and took the machine apart -- an ordeal to figure out. I found that a pliable ring on the winder was completely disintegrated (gummy plastic-like stuff). An online search found this -- a bobbin "tire" which I THINK is the part I need: http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/bobbin-winder-tire-brother-x55238051.aspx. Hope this helps. --Also cleaned all the lint out when I had the machine opened up. They don't make it EASY!

Can't wind the bobbin

Hi again,

Well we finally downloaded a service manual that cost a few bucks, then finished getting the machine apart, then found a small rubber O-ring that had obviously gotten hot when spinning after the tangling of the thread on the bobbin stem. You could see where the heat had melted tiny teeth marks in the ring and it was stretched out of shape. It and yours too will need to be replaced.

Good luck!
