I know this is going to be hard to believe but you have either dirty / loose or coroded cabels if you jump it from the car and it strarts then the only thing you are doing is appling power to the outside of the battery connection the inside is not making contact with the battery post clean with a wire brush do both poles apply a no corode paste tighten bolts snug they're made of lead and bend easily so don't over do it Good Luck Bruce depending on where you live you may want to greese up the snowblower too :-)

If smoke is coming from solenoid on rear top side of trans then internal windings are bad but usually it will blow the fuse.Remove plastic nut from solenoid,slide solenoid off shaft then engage PTO.If solenoid does not smoke slide screwdriver or something like it into solenoid and see if there is any Magnetic force.If smoke comes from deck check idlers and spindles for movement.Be sure to ckeck gearcase oil level on the deck.

Snow blower attachment M02462X052302 will it fit a GT262 tractor? Attachment and tractor are John Deere.

I see snow blowers as an option but 262 is not included in the list.

It says it fits 212,F510,F525,GT275, Lx172,LX173,LX176, LX178,LX186,LX188,LX255, LX266,LX277,LX277 AWS,LX279,LX280,LX288, LX289,STX30,STX38,STX46

Not to say you can't make it fit but it will take some work.

Flat idle pully keeps popping off

Is it the flat pulley on transaxle? Its missing a small e-clip.

Replaced battery (old anyway) on john deere lx288. battery light still on. possible sources of problem?

follow the gauge wires to where it is grounded, dismantle and clean the ground. Also clean the battery posts. Check that the battery is charging when the motor is running... if not then replace or repair the magneto or alternator where applicable.

Hi Vicki,

1. The yellow arm sticking up that has two notches in it is supposed to have a spring attached to it. That is what causes the tension. It doesn't look like a spring is attached in the video.

Where is the fuse located in the John Deere GT275?

Replacing Fuse
1. Lift hood.
2. Pull defective fuse (A) out of socket.
3. Check metal clip in fuse window and discard fuse if clip
is broken.
4. Push new fuse into socket.
5. Lower hood.
