All of a sudden, our light and/or fan come on by themselves during the night. Something to do with radio frequency not being filtered?

Just change the settings in the receiver & transmitter to a different frequency.

Thanks for your reply. Does that mean I have to take the entire fan/light down to get to the transmitter or receiver? I hope not.

Why isn't there a "not helpful" button? If there were I'd definetly click it.

SOURCE: Hunter fan/light with remote installed turns on by itself

Many times this is caused by stray frequencies in the neighborhood. And, sometimes changing the frequencies on the remote and receiver reduce the occurrence.

But it sounds like this may not be the case, here. If not, the receiver in the fan is the culprit and should be replaced. No danger, just annoying.

My remote control ceiling fan and light turn on by themselves when wireless internet is being used in this room

It sounds like there is a radio interference conflict. Both devices are probably using the same band. Check to see if your remote controls can be switched to a different radio frequency. If to, that should solve the issue.

The lights will go off sometime during the next four hours. This car does not have the automatic lights. One night they came on by themselves.

interior lights or exterior

most interior light concerns like yours are due to a door ajar switch issue

exterior lights could be something a little more serious

Fan light is turning itself on

Oh i remember my first ceiling fan and the midnight wake ups. lol. Easy easy fix. You are getting radio interference from some other source. Take the fan back down and in the remote as well as the reciever you can change the codes (refer to your owners manual) Some have switches you can move others have plastic clips you can add or remove. In any case it doesn't matter which code you change it to as any other code should solve your problem. Good luck, hope you sleep better afterwards.

Have a hunter ceiling fan with light kit and remote. Lights have started turning on and off by themselves ?

This is likely caused by stray frequencies in the neighborhood. Change the frequency on your system and see if the lights go off less frequently.

See the manual for the remote system. You'll need to go into the top of the fan and change some little switches (dip switches) and set the same frequency on the transmitter (what most call "the remote").

Similar problem

Your fan receives RF signals from the remote for control. It may be picking up stray RF signals from a neighbor. Try re-programming your fan/remote to a different frequency.
