Stick it in the freezer for a few hours then try. It may only work for 5-10 minutes at a time so get as much off of it as you can. Also, contact Seagate and check if it's still under warranty. If so, ask them to RMA it.

I have dropped a Seagate goflex desk 2TB hard drive and when I power it, it makes a beeping sound, like a siren.

hello vyseman15,
hard disc drives need to be handled carefully, they can only handle a limited rough usage. especially dropping while it is working is very dangerous, in most cases the head will "scratch" (damage) the discs surface which make the device afterwards useless.
sorry to say there is nearly no chance to make it work again. there are some companies who can rescue some of the data on it, but they are expensive anyway.
regards

The hard drive was set up for my Mac and was working well. Now there is a beeping sound! How do I get it to stop?

The beeping sound is generated when the disk has suffered a mechanical failure - the only way to fix it is to buy a new one since this one is near or already dead.

When plugged into USB slot, Beeping annoying sound to begin with, followed by light flashing and Hard drive not being detected. Thanks

This issue is related to the hard drive, Have you dropped the hard drive at any time recently? If so then you may have lost your data. Since the hard drive is makeing a beeping noise then the head has died meaning the hard drive is dead hope this helps.

the beeping sound is the post system searching for your hard drive and other connected devices
try replacing all the leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions + IDE,SATA and the ones that attach from your motherboard to hard drive
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they are probably old and faulty ?
hope this helps

The beeping sounds that you here are actually beep codes and they tell you what problem your computer is experiencing. Check with your user manual to see if there is anything on your beep codes.
