gently run the fuel and air mixture screws on the carburetor all the way closed (clockwise).then turn them out one and a quarter turns each. That setting should allow the saw to start if you are getting fuel to the carburetor. Once the saw starts, make fine adjustments to the fuel/air mixture screws until the saw runs to your satisfaction.

I have a p28 pioneer, hasnot been used in a few years. I put a new carburator kit in it, now it's over fueling. Gas is coming out of exaust. won't start. It does fire though.

You need to do a pressure test on the carb, this will tell you if the inlet needle is leaking, it is also important that the metering lever onto the needle is not set too high, on the metering side of the carb the gasket goes against the carb body first to act as a spacer to the metering diaphram.

Stihl saw runs but won't idle.

The paper pumps get stiff and do not pump fuel very well. It's the new Ethanol gas that is the Carb Killers. You need a rebuild kit not just disassemble and clean.
You have IDLE ADJUST Low Speed adjust and High speed adjust. Low and High speed adjust have nothing to do with Idle.

I have a stink 032av spits gas out.carborater And won't fire I tried starting fluid in the cylinder and it still spit out of carborater

Do the easy stuff first: Rebuild the carbuerator... If the diaphram of the fuel pump has deteriorated or has a hole this will cause the problem. One side of the diaphram connects to the crankcase getting pressure pulses that drive this fuel pump diaphram. More than this you wil probably have to take it in for service. The carburator kits usually run around $20. Be careful to not lose parts and assemble exactly the same. AVOID adjusting the idle screws.

Poulan 446t Will start, won't continue to

The diaphragm in the carb is likely ruined from the gas gelling onto it. This will put pinholes in it and then it won't work properly. Pick up a carb kit and rebuild it (if parts available) and then you should be good to go. If you can't rebuild the carb, a replacement will run you 30 bucks or more.

Chainsaw runs full speed, will not idle. tried to adjust no affect Homelite UT10516

It is most likely the diaphragm needs replacing. This is the cheapest and easiest thing to try first. If this doesn't it may require a new carburator, or you may can rebuild the carburator with a kit. The kits are very inexpensive.

I would like to know how to adjust the carburator of McCulloch 3516 chainsaw 35cc/cm 46759-77

the carbuator has two 2 adjusting screws on is high side and the other is low side.start by turnig them both in until they touch turn them both out 1 1/2 turns.this should start and run saw.throttle saw up to full throttle and adjust high side in until you get the best RPM out of not adjust high side any less then 7/8 turn out from bottom.if you do you will burn saw up from to lean burn.once the high sie is set now adjust low side until the saw will idle by it's self.let me know if this helped you.......
