I am not sure where you can get that part in TX. However; you can purchase the part from Master Distributors and they can ship the part very quickly to your door. You can contact them at or by calling them toll free at 800-446-1446. I hope this helps!

SOURCE: Please specify the chain (091375-02S) for the 16

I hope no expert will do as you ask. I will not! I will provide the necessary links and information so YOU can make an informed decision based on what you are given.
Replace Desa with Remington. The EL-8 is not listed, I think if you do a careful inspection of your saw you will find a model number 107624* or 170625* (*matters not). Both of these numbers input below provide the same 3 choices on the following table.

Oregon Bar & Chain Selector

The above results are for an original or equivalent 16" bar. Only you can determine your level of expertise, how much risk you are willing to assume and choose one of part numbers listed. Once you make your choice the Oregon part number can easily be converted to other chain manufacturers (if your local outlet does not handle Oregon). I suggest a few phone calls to save you time and gasoline. Given the Oregon part number and your assurance of a purchase, if my store, your chain would be waiting when you walked in the door.

Misplaced the manual. Need to know what oil I should use for the oil lubrication.

The chain oil tank should have a non fling chain oil, the non fling addative is so the oil does not fly off the end of the bar and lubricates where most cutting is done.

Where can I find a replacement bar and chain for my saw?

Remove the bar and chain from the saw. Take these parts to a saw servicing dealer who can match the bar and chain. Be sure to clean the area where the bar mounts. Run the saw for a few moments--the oil port in the side of the case should ooze out oil. Install the bar first, then thread the chain onto the sprocket, then work it over the bar. Pull the bar out until the chain is fairly tight, then fit the cover, but leave the mounting nut(s) finger tight. Turn the chain adjuster until the chain doesn't droop from the bar, but still be able to turn the chain by hand. Tight the mounting nut(s) and recheck tension. Run the saw at full speed with the tip near some cardboard--it should throw off a thin line of oil onto the cardboard. Hope this helps!

I have a 16 inch chain saw and want to buy a new chain saw blade does anyone know what other manufacturer's blade will fit

Oregon mfg. makes a full line of replacement chains and bars (blade). Check with home centers, hardware stores, and saw dealers. Bring full details of the saw with you, or the saw itself. Good luck!

My adjusting block is worn, can I purchase a new one?

It depends on which saw you have. Are you aware they are no longer in production? Eventually a replacement part will not be available.
You do not give us the model number of your saw to verify this will fit.

• Type "YourModelNumber" into the "Search for your unit by Model:" window, then click search.
• Click the "YourModelNumber" - Remington Electric Chain Saw "View Model" link.
• Click "View Owners Manual" or "View Illustrated Parts Diagram" link.
• Type "YourPartNumber" into the "Search for your parts by Part #:" window, then click search.

the chain should not be sagging from bottom of bar.when you tighten the chain push the nose of saw up so that all of the slack is out of the chain.chain should snap back in the bar if you pull the chain up and let go.when i adjust a chain i push the saw forward to make the bar go up and stay there while i tighten the nuts.hope this helps, let me know
