Re: Easyshare DX4530 Camera died

If it doesn't come on at all it could be a lot of reasons. You may need to take it in to see what the problem is and have it diagnosed. You might try cleaning the electrical contacts where the batteries are located. Look inside. If you see "green" material inside that is corrosion and simple "baking soda" added to some alcohol will remove that. Use a cotton swab with alcohol mix. If you use water it may leak inside the camera and cause further damage. Remove as much of the excess as you can.

I have a dx4530 and when I take pictures, the screen is black. My guess is that there is a battery inside for the shutter and the battery needs to be replaced.

No unfortunantly this is the mechanics of the camera.
DX4530 is no longer repaired by KODAK due to lack of spear parts.

However thay do offer a Trade up option where you can trade your existing camera for a favorable price to a Brand new model.

Camera won't turn on, light just blinks

Your fix could be as simple as cleaning the camera's battery contacts, or it could be something more serious and expensive. First try removing the batteries and cleaning the camera contacts with a small metal brush, steel wool, or fine sandpaper. If that doesn't fix the problem, check the Kodak Help Center by clicking on the link below. It uses a simple Q&A format to diagnose problems and propose solutions.

Have a easyshare dx 4530 camera. looking for dock 11 or equivilant?

Since the Kodak EasyShare Camera Dock 2 is no longer available, you can use a KODAK Ni-MH Rapid Battery Charger K4500-PC-C+1 instead.
Item number is 1717610.
You can also use any brand of battery or charger as long as it is Ni-MH.

Kodak dx4530

It sounds like either your aperture is stuck closed and no light is getting in, or your CCD is defective and it's not converting the light that enters the lens into a digital signal for the camera to record.

Unfortunately this model has design problems, we have probably had 100's of them over the years... I hate to say it, but it's probably time to replace it with something newer.

Good luck from Darntoothysam com

Defective View Window

Pardon me saying this but ... you have an optical viewfinder so the only reason I can think of is that you are not looking directly through it and being off centre it darkens etc. Do you wear glasses? They put the eye further back and that can contribute to this effect. Otherwise check it out at the shop where you bought.
