Have you tried another web browser? Google Chrome? Firefox? When you say "it kicks me out", do you get a error message? Is it blocked in Internet Options? Are you using IE9?

Tip

How to succesfully sell things on eBay

1. Create and Ebay account if not already done so.

2. Do a simple search for the item you wish to sell. This is to get an idea on prices similar items are selling for.

3. Click on sell in the upper right hand corner, then click start selling

4. Enter keywords about your item (up to 3) and then select one or more catagories to list in. (the more catagories, the more popularity and more chance to sell, but don't just list in a category it doesn't belong in just to get more popularity.)

5. Fill out the form for selling the thing.
5a. Price
-Starting- this is the price that the auction starts at, if someone bids, it will sell for no lower than this.

-Reserve - This will allow you to set you starting bid as low as you want and have it sell for no lower than the reserve. (keep in mind this may drive away some people)

-Buy it now - This is the price that you can give to buyers if they simply want to buy and don't want to auction.

6. Upload pictures. Pictures are important. Sometimes this may make the difference between selling and not selling. I always try to use pictures of the actual product. It just lets buyers know what they are actually getting.

7. Use the best description you can, the more details there are, the more attractive it is to the buyer. DON'T repeat the same thing over and over just to get more words.

8. Pick a good shipping method, and what I have found out the best way to do it is to go to a shipping place, have it packaged up, and have them tell you how much it will be to ship. Tha way you will have no surprise shipping costs. You can also always refund the extra pice for shipping if you over-estimate.

9. List the item. eBay is pretty good at helping you the rest of the way.

I hope you enjoy selling things on ebay and soon you will become a master. Pretty soon, you'll be earning yourself stars.

I have good selling performance and have been suspended for someones bad performance

You are probably tagged on their system as a bad client. If you think they are rude and unhelpful then......!
Two ideas, try Craigslist, and restart on Ebay with a new identity. Its their game, their rules!

I have an colection of hundreds of match box top covers that my dad started collecting during the 2nd world war and i would like to find a home for then

There's always eBay (which I tend to avoid due to fees and fraud)... but for matchbook covers that are 20+ years old, I suggest selling them as a vintage collection on Etsy.com or a similar site such as http://www.rubylane.com/ You tend to get better prices on vintage/craft sites (and more discriminating collectors), but items may not sell as quickly as on eBay. Search for similar items on Etsy to get an idea of the worth of your collection.

Another idea is a local antique shop that may offer to sell your collection on consignment (they do the work and keep a small portion of the sale price).

How do i change my selling preferences to include the rest of the world?

Selling on eBay is kind of an art. I'm by no means a power seller or anything of that sort, but eBay has kept me entertained for quite a few years now. I have sold quite a variety of products, mostly used supplies that I figured would be better off in someone else's hands than collecting dust in my home.

The best thing that you can do for your listing is to take the maximum amount of pictures allowable of your product (before the fees for extra slots begin to kick in). Make them good. Reveal exposing details of what you're trying to sell, and collect all angles, because there is nothing that boosts confidence in the buyer more than showing him exactly what he will be purchasing.

For example, I'm selling a laptop right now that has some great offers on it. I've taken pictures of the top with the power adapter, bottom, what the computer would look like if you were to sit in front of it with it switched on, and the dated screens showing the specs. Within 12 hours of posting the item, I have offers within 10% of my asking price, and the reason I haven't taken any of them yet is because I am waiting just a little bit longer to see if anyone will bite, even though I understand that there's a psychological tendency for buyers to low-ball off the listed price.

And that's another tricky part. Being able to price your items optimally takes a bit of practice if you're not used to utilizing the information available to you. But my rule of thumb is to typically compare to similar items of a similar quality on eBay, Amazon, half.com, etc. Think of any websites that could be selling what you're trying to post up, and make sure that you undercut by a reasonable amount. I think a good rule of thumb is that if you're looking for a quick sale, a 15% cut usually does the trick, especially if you are able to incorporate a cheaper shipping method than your competitors. I think this is much easier said than done, as I've sort of mentioned, pricing is kind of a balancing act. Your intuition of the eBay markets will become refined with more practice in just the art of selling.

A third strategy is to stuff as many crucial keywords into your title as humanly possible. For example, when I'm selling a collectible sports card, I include words such as TROPHY, PROMO, COLLECTOR'S, and RARE. I have had people purchase sports cards off of me without a precise intuition of what the valuables were worth; what made a $30 set different from an $800 set due to history and card condition. But aptly describing my products in the titles and in the body description, using bold letters and spacing in a strategic manner which indicates intelligent writing, have given me great success in the world of eBay. Successful Selling on eBay which helps you to increase sell on eBay.

How do I sell some thing on E-Bay? what is needed and what steps do I have to take?

Go to http://ebay.com and click on the the heading SELL in the upper right. This is a pull down menu. I suggest that you read each heading through to familiarize yourself with selling. You will read how to open an account, how to pay your fees, how to receive payment for an item and how to list an item, post a phot etc.. Ebay has a great selling system and easy instructions to follow.

Good luck to you and Thank you for using FixYa.
