Restart and HOLD the keys CTRL or FN +f11 or f12 depend of you mark, and go to restore factory default and ready.
Some computer can use F2 or esc for enter BIOS setup depend of your mark too

SOURCE: installing 750GB SATA on Asus A8N-E Mobo

Hello there.

I would not update the BIOS unless you are experiencing any problems. Try installing the new hardware first and then if you do experience problems, think about upgrading the BIOS. The latest version is 1013 FYI.

The new hardware should be supported without a BIOS update, as long as you have Service Pack 2 in Windows XP or above then all your 750GB will be shown. As for the memory you should see it list the new size in the POST screen before Windows even loads, or inside Windows.

If you do have problems, then please post back and we can help.

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: PC won't boot if SATA drive connected, drive works fine if plugged afterward

Try Hirens Boot CD. It has a lot of programs on it to detect format etc.
I think your hard drive has a missing or corrupt MBR and it needs to be replaced.
When I have had a hard dive not recognized I hve used Super Fdisk to format and reset hard drive.

SOURCE: I have ASUS K8S-MX Motherboard and updated BIOS

What file system did you use for partitioning? Also, what OS are you currently running?

My guess is that you did not partition this drive with a compatible file system.

Assuming I am correct, you'll have to use an operating system that is compatible, or else partition accordingly.

K8v-mx moterboard sata not detecte bios and windows

Hi, you can download a manual here:

http://support.asus.com/Download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=k8v-mx&p=1&os=

Please select your operating system.
Select manual and click on global for download.
Unzip the file before you can read it.
Its maybe just a setting in the bios that makes the fault.

MY BIOS IS NOT DETECTING SATA hard disk, i system is not detecting SATA hard disk

When the system is booting go into the bios settings. The option for sata drive detection may need to be turned on there, once verifying that option is on save & reboot the pc and it should detect the sata drive.
