If your phone does not have a dedicated Music button it is usually the HOLD button. Try the hold button first (with the phone hung up) if that does not work look for a button labeled music or possibly a soft key (key's labeled by an LCD display)

Press '1' to turn the background music on/off.

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

I have a droid Samsung Galaxy 4S cell phone. My problem is in my attempt to play music from my cell through my boat radio I plug in with a cord through the top jack on the phone directly to the radio.

A Samsung phone running the Android operating system probably has a Google "Play Music" app installed. Open the list of apps and look for it. If not go to Google "Play Store" and install it.

If your music files are on your phone or memory card, you can set up the app and it will create a database of all your songs (usually in a folder called "Music"). The app plays what you ask it to play - one song, or an entire album, or all songs in the "genre" Country, etc. The radio just plays whatever sound the phone is sending. The iphone is set up to play a series of songs (probably you selected an album) before pausing.

I have a UTStarcom Shuttle. I am trying to play to play music

Put a microSD memory card (limit 4GB) in the phone. Take a few pictures and make a short video .Use the phone menu to transfer the pictures an video to the external memory card. Use the media player to watch your recorded video. Try to play music and you will get a no content found message. Now, turn off the phone, remove the memory card and place it into an adapter that will connect to a computer by usb port. Windows should recognize it as a removable drive. If you look at that drive in Explorer you will see 3 folders. Pictures are in my_pix. Videos are in my_flix. Transfer .mp3 files to the my_music folder. When you put the card back into the phone you can play the mp3 files with the media player. Yes, I did this and it works.

Background Music

You need 2 or 3 things to do that. On the system cabinet is a port labelled MOH. (There may be 2). You need a music source, in the U.S. you can use a commercial grade player with promotions. Use a search engine with the words MUSIC ON HOLD PLAYER. You could also use a radio, just don't get caught. Especially in today's climate, people make a living calling your business and listening for illegal use of commercial radio on phone systems. The licensing agencies issue huge fines for that.

Last, you also need some programming in system options.

Here's a reprint from another forum:

If you're looking for the best all-around player, the IntelliTouch OHP-6000 and OHP-8000 is a good place to start. It comes with Message Studio 3.0 that gives you the ability to mix royalty free music with your voice cuts. You can also purchase about 30 more tracks for $20. You can download Message Studio 2.5 to test the interface and search the product at The 6000 uses SD Memory, the 8000 uses USB memory drives.

I am also very fond of the Premier Technologies USB-1100. It's more expensive but it's all metal construction, easier to mount, and uses the USB drive. You transfer your MP3 files to it, plug it in, hit the reset button and walk away from it. They're at You don't get software with this unit, but I happen to know someone who keeps a copy of Message Studio 3.0 on his laptop for these occasions and we can sell you Message Studio 3.0 alone.

Hope this helps.

My Panasonic KX-T7730 has a humming sound when the phone is hung up. If I turn the volume down, I have to turn it up when I am on the phone.

It would play music if you had a music source plugged into the cabinet.

Without picking up the handset, press "1". Your humming should stop. It's the command for Background Music ON/OFF.

How do you play the radio through the NEC Dterm80 Phone System

The NEC phone system needs to have a radio attached to distribute the music to the phone sets.
It is not illegal to play the radio through a phone system (radio advertizements pay for it)

This is a Dterm 80 phone set

To turn Background Music on or off:
1. Press the Speaker key.
2. Dial 725.
3. Press Speaker to hang up.
