SOURCE: windows 7 home basic product

Windows 7 Home Basic with the key you provided is an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) version of Windows 7. These versions are auto-keyed/auto-activated with a BIOS check when booting to the media to install Windows.
The only times it should prompt for a product key are:

  1. Installing the OS on a different brand system other than the OED brand it was designed to be installed on.
  2. Installing Windows from inside an already running install of Windows instead of booting to the Windows media.
If this is the OEM system the OS shipped on and you are prompted for activation, flash the bios to the most current version and run the Microsoft WGA tools to clear the activation prompt.
If this is not the OEM system the media shipped with, then you can't activate it.
If you installed Windows without booting to the Media, then boot to the media and re-install Windows.
If under warranty, contact the OEM warranty service as they provide support for OEM Windows.

There's no way to know HW specs from a Windows key.

Download and run the free program Belarc Advisor and run it. It will tell you more than you knew you could know.

OEM is usually for the specific PC is it not? PreInstalled...cannot use an OEM ID for a clean version from retail. There should be a prodkey with the software box/disk.

Purchased windows 7 home basic but windows activation is needed. Why? help me plzzzz. 24 days to activate.Activate Windows now Product ID : 00346-OEM-8992752-50008

Choose to activate windows by phone. Its a free phone number; just follow the instructions to activate. You will need to type into the phone the numbers generated when you choose to activate windows, you will then be given an activation code to type into the activation window. Suggest writing the activation code down, so you don't make any errors typing it in. Quite a straight forward process.

Hi. Can anyone send me Windows 7 home basic activation or product key in my e-mail at sandy.blackeagle@gmail.com. My product id: 00346-OEM-8902027-51000

None of those you could get here will work - you have an OEM install and it will accept keys coming only from the manufacturer of that particular pc and those keys are under strict control and cannot be used more than once. Get it from who has installed Windows on your pc.
