Re: printer problem

This may sound silly, but I've seen it done many times. When you installed the new ink cartridges, did you take the little piece of tape off the printhead? It's put there to prevent leaks, but it also prevents printing if it's not removed.

My printer is only printer blank pages? When it prints, it runs the paper through at a rate as if it was actually putting ink onto it but than the paper just comes out blank. Help!

Check the ink cartridges for ink level - it might just be empty. If you've replaced them with new cartridges already, clean the print heads with a "Q" tip and alcohol and run the "clean-cartridge" function in the printers properties.

Not printing

When a printer goes through the motions of printing bt delivers a blank paper, it is indicative of blocked nuzzles. Ink may be new, but their nuzzles may be blocked; depending on manner of storage. To be sure apply a folded tissue paper to the ink nuzzle and press firmly. If the tissue comes off well blotted with ink it means you still have a good amount of ink in it the nuzzle is not blocked. If not blotted or scantily blotted, it means ink is really low or nuzzle is blocked. To be very sure of this, place nuzzle in a place/saucer with a bit water so that the nuzzle is soaked. Leave for about 10 minutes. Then apply the tissue again. If still not well blotted it means ink is really low or empty. If new you should return it for a replacement. In the case of blocked nuzzles, the procedure may be repeated over to get results.

The printer prints but the paper is blank

I uninstalled the printer and reinstalled the software (from the beginning) and it worked. I did not install the software for including the CD/DVD printing.

Canon i965 prints blank pages

Yes those printheads do go bad, they burn out just like a light bulb. If you emptied cartridges then the purge/cleaning assembly is working properly, and the only other option is the expensive printhead.

When i turn my printer on the light flashes green once and then orange 5 times. cannot get past this stage - any ideas?

Here are all the flashing explanations:

Two flashes: Out of paper or paper feed error

Reload the paper correctly and press the RESUME/CANCEL button.

Three flashes: Paper jam

If paper has jammed in the printer, clear the jam, reload the paper in the printer correctly and press the RESUME/CANCEL button.

See Paper Jams

Four flashes: Empty ink tank

If you press the RESUME/CANCEL button, it will continue printing with an empty ink tank. After printing is finished, replace the ink tank immediately. If you continue printing with an empty ink tank, it may cause damage to your printer.

Refer to your Quick Start Guide for instructions on how to replace an ink tank.

Five flashes: No print head installed/Defective print head

Install the print head. Also, ensure that the protective tape has been removed.

If reinstalling the print head does not solve the problem, replace it with a new one. Contact the Customer Care Center.

Eight flashes: Waste ink tank almost full

The printer has a built-in waste ink tank for the ink used during print head cleaning. Eight flashes indicates that the waste ink tank is nearly full. Press the RESUME/CANCEL button to cancel the error so you can continue printing. Before the waste ink tank becomes completely full, contact the Customer Care Center.

Can we print with other three Color ink cartridges when Black Ink cartridge is emptied?

as u have ran out of ink you cant print anymore... you have to replace a new ink cartridge.... this is because when u print something, the colors will get mixed to print the exact color.... even if u are printing only in black, some other colors wil get mixed to produce the black color on the paper... so u need to change the ink cartridge.... u cannot run with a blank filled ink cartridge.... and the selection of your printer is very good...

thanks and regards
