SOURCE: replacing lid switch

someone, Im not finding that model number. Going by the first six digits Im assuming that this is a regular top loader and not an Oasis washer. If so, remove the end caps on the consol by pulling them off. Remove the screws under each end cap and flip the consol up. Unplug the lid switch connector and snap springs holding the cabinet on. The whole cabinet will pull forward and you can get at the lid switch. Check out the pics and post back...Catriver.

SOURCE: Accessing and replacing the lid

  • unplug the washer
  • depending on its age this description should be accurate.
  •  lift the lid and you should see 2 screws on the right of the tub.
  • these are the screws that hold the lid switch assembly.
  •  you can reach between the case and tub to get it out.

SOURCE: how do I get to the lid switch to replace it on my washer

Pull of the end caps #14 & 11 on the diagram. Remove the screws and the front panel will flip up. Then there are 2 clips connecting the bac to the cabimet. Snap those out and the the WHOLE front of the machine comes off if you tilt it forward. Go to sears.com and parts to bring up any model for anything and you can kind of see how things go together. Good luck.

My kenmore washer model#110.24422300 is not agitating, spinning or draining. Problem started today, it work fine yesterday. Tried selecting different settings to get to agitate or drain, did not work.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

When the washer fills but does not agitate or spin then you can check if the lid switch is fine. You can jump start the lid switch by connecting both the wires with each other or use the third wire to act as jumper between the two. After this if the problem is solved then replacing lid switch is recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Kenmore washer want go thru spin cycle

If it sits there with water and doesn't drain or spin, it thinks the lid is open. Try depressing the lid switch and see if you hear a click. Try replacing the lid switch.
