Connecting an asus eee box pc to a tv so I can use the tv as a mo
I want to connect an asus eee box pc to a tv to use as a monitor for the pc. I don't want to import tv signals. I want to export from the pc to the tv so I can surf the internet, etc. The trouble is the tv is an older type that has only an antenna in connection. Can I rig up something so I can connect the pc to the tv so I can use the tv as a monitor. Will an rf modulator do it. The USB dongle seems to be saying that it will allow real tv shows to play on the tv. I don't care about that. I want to use the tv as a screen to do word processing, surf the internet, etc. Can what I am asking be done?

With a TV that old, I doubt you will be able to read text on websites when displayed on the TV unless it is a pretty big font. I have a 52'' rear projection TV and it is hooked up to my computer as a 2nd monitor. While it is great for watching movies/videos, it is near impossible to read any text from documents or webpages. Sorry, just wanted to share that with you before you spend any money and end up disappointed afterward. Awhile back I shared your same goal and found out the hard way.

Unless it has an S-video connector I don't think it can be done. If you have an S-Video port you can purchase a RCA Video to S-Video cable. Can you give some more detail about the USB dongle and it features. Also can you give me the model of the eee box you have.

You could try looking at RadioShack. I'm sure you can find a connector for it albeit you might pay an arm and leg for it.
