What does the check engine light mean

Autozone says the top five reasons you get a check engine light comes on is:
O2 sensor needs replacing
Gas cap is loose, damaged, or needs replaced
Catalytic converter needs replaced
Mass air flow sensor needs cleaned or replaced
The spark plug or spark plug wires need replaced.
However, it is important to note that some Miatas may have a problem where the problem is caused by an improperly tightened fuel cap. However, due to improperly manufactured threads on the fuel filler pipe, the filler pipe may need to be replaced.

Seems like a black mold has invaded the air conditioner unit. What do I do and is it safe to run?

No it's not safe to run. It can be cleaned with a solution of 20% white vinegar and 80% water. Where rubber gloves when cleaning the unit.

I have a Model # FAA074S7A window unit 6.500 BTU. Is there any other maint. that I can do, other than cleaning the front fliter, to improve the performance of my unit? Also, condensation is building up...

Once a year you should take the unit out and spray the front and rear coils with coil cleaner and spray it with a water hose. The inside coil gets very dirty on the inside where its hard to see.(where the blower wheel is) The water splashing i condensation not draining to the rear of the unit. The usual problem is the unit not tilted toword the outside enough or the drain whole from the bottom of the front coil is plugged. This whole is only 1/4 inch its small does not take much to plug it. good luck hope this helps.

Warm air

could be several things...if all is working/blowing and its clean inside & outside with a clean filter then more then likely it's low on gas/freon......if you continoue to run it it'll pobly ice up/freeze......also make sure you hear the compressor running as well as the fan blowing. sometimes this can be tough listen for that deep rumble/humming sound thats the compressor.

I have the Lowes FAA074S7A. I am attempting to install it, but I would like to know where the water drain is on this unit. The little manual does not say! Thanks!

There is generally a small indentation at the center of the back of the unit, the unit is pitched to the outside and the water usually drains from this "divot"
