Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-WX9 Digital Camera

Open Question

Sony DSC-WX9 won't turn on

So I've had my camera for about a year now. I used to use it A LOT, but I hadn't used it for about 2 months. Now I'm ready to use it again it won't turn on. I charged it of course. No results. I did the power button reset thing. No results. It's completely unresponsive, no green lights. I kept it in its case during the entire time. what's going on?

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).

DSC N2 :The switch off switch on and "Accessing" message with the beeping was so annoying. As the lens came out, I held it in place and turned the camera off, I could feel the motoor pulling (three times ) and gently resisted the retraction. the camera turned off with the lens out. When I turned it on the problem was resolved (hopefully permanently). €z

SOURCE: cyber shot dsc-p72 will not power on

This problem is inside the camera. Either power supply or main board. Something, most likely a leaky capacitor or faulty IC, is causing the battery sensor to see too low a voltage and shut down. It could also be the sensor itself.

Reset button on a 2011 sony cybershot DSC WX9

there is no such thing as a reset button in the DSC WX9 camera. Sony does advice you to remove the battery for more than one minute, and than replace it after that minute, is something unexpected occurs.

Sony DSC-W320 says "no space on memory card" even though it's completely empty

The problem most likely is caused because you are deleting EVERYTHING. Next time, instead of deleting everything, format the card in the camera instead.

Photos to big to import to some sites from my sony digital DSC-WX9 camera

You can use just about any photo editing program to reduce the resolution of the photos. For example, in Windows Photo Gallery select "E-mail" from the menu.
If you know you're not going to do anything but email the photos, you can reduce the resolution in the camera so as to create smaller photos in the first place using the Still Image Size command in the Shooting menu. However, if you happen to take a great photo you won't be able to make a good print of it because it's too small.

Hi,i dropped my sony WX9. Bought it in June 2011, dropped Sept 2011. It was a short drop. Now the lens opens only halfway and keeps clicking and on the screen i get the prompt: turn the camera off and then...

Hi,
There are three ways of repairing,
1- Contact nearest Sony Service Center and they will estimate you to replace the Complete Optical Unit, which would be costly but reliable,

2- In second way, Contact any repair man nearby and he will open the Optical Unit Assy. and and try to fix it (most probably it is only misaligned).

3- Third method is free of cost and chances are 50/50, the face of optical unit (Lens) keep down and keep press it normally and in the meanwhile turn its power on. The Lens of the camera will try to open keep it press slightly not with full power :) . After few tries turn it off. After that in normal way turn it on and hopefully it will work fine again.
If No.3 method successful keep remember me :)
Thanks

I'm sorry to inform you that the DSC-WX9 dos not work as a web cam. It only connects as [MTP] or [Mass Storage]. It doesn't have PTP that allows cameras to work as web cams.
