Question about Saws
Yesterday I bought a new band saw with the label "Grizzly model: G1015," The problem is that I do not believe that the label is correct. So it has a green plastic cover with a yellow switch plate. 14" clearance. 25" height, 28" length. Designed with a sanding option, woodcutting option and metal cutting option. There is great information on the motor. It is an RJ Toyang, modle TME 202.1, 1/3 HP, 4 poles, 1720 RPM, 60 Hz, 115 V, 7.5 A, Rise 60, Ph 1. Any info would be great!

click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I'm a service tech for hobart,I'll type your serial number into our database and see what it brings up.The changes that have been made---older units use a mechanical start switch on the motor, the new units use an electronic start switch.the old units center shaft and gears have changed.the older units dont have bowl guards and the new units do.(this is a cage that goes around the bowl). The gasket that your talking about is just that--a thin paper. The paper wears and you get that symptom you describe and its normal.I'll get back to you.

On the motors I deal with there is a series of numbers that identify the shaft size, hp and all other requirements. I would try and contact a local Grainger and see if they can help, if not try in the yellow pages for a motor repair shop in your area and sometimes they can get you one. Good luck
