Driver problem
Best choice is installing drivers from HP website.

Here is the download page for C700, select proper model, different models may have different audio, video and ethernet drivers. On next step you will be asked to select OS (windows version), then you can download drivers for all devices listed.
If some model does not have specific drivers, try generic c700 model download.

Drivers for Wi-Fi (drivers for Ethernet Controller and Modem Device on high definition audio bus)
Not much offered at Compaq's driver site for XP. For the modem driver, try the link below, it says it's for Vista, but it should work. If it doesn't then you will need the make and model of the modem, then go to the manufacturer's site or driverguide.com for the drivers, and the same for the wireless, make and model, manufacturer's site or driver guide. To be honest with you, modems are just about obsolete, unless you have dial up at home, you'll probably never use it.
