One solution I learned to overcome a 'not so straight saw guide, is to attach a hardwood slat along the guide edge (typically 3/4'thick). While the is a very slight flex to hardwood, the tolerance should be acceptable. Also want to slow your cutting speed so as to not put undue pressure sideways into the guide.

I heard that the rod that it rides on, may be bent. This is the rod, that you normally adjust, to get your straight cut, parallel to the blade. One mans solution was to turn the rods, so the bend of the rod, was vertical, rather than horizontal. You may want to look into ordering new , hopefully straight rods, from QEP too.

I believe that fix was for a different model QEP. Well, maybe it will point you in the right direction.

Can I create storage under the V-Berth

In most boat like this there is some space in the bow yes. I cut unto mine by cutting into a piece of 3/4 plywood about 6 inches, then held the board down where I wanted to cut and used a jig saw on an angle to the fiberglass to cut the starter hole, Then the piece I cut out fit perfectly as the hatch to access the storage.

How to Build a Sawbuck for Cutting Firewood

Select the size. Design the permanent sawbuck to be 6 vertical 2x4's (38 mm x 89 mm) or 2x6s (38 mm x 140mm) of about 4 feet (1.22 meters) long and 4 horizontal 2x6's 5 feet (1.52 meters) long using 3.5 inch (8.89 cm) wood screws or nails. (See "Tips" for information on making a demo/prototype version instead.)

* Cut the "V" form portion at an angle as shown
* Place the middle of the "X" a little taller for use with a chainsaw rather than for a bow saw, if you prefer.

Design the sawbuck/sawhorse as shown in the illustrations. Tailor the design as you desire or require.

Use suitable boards for your project. Nominal 2X6s or 2X4s of pine (southern yellow or lodgepole or white), or spruce will be fine.
  • Decide the taller height that you think you may want, namely, cut the "X" pieces about 48 inches (1.22 meters) long.
  • Adjust the height according to what feels right to you.
Consider starting with one (the first) "X" temporarily attached together with two nails/screws to see how tall and wide that you want to make it. Take it apart and angle-cut and trim the angle of the "V" as shown in the photo above. This angled cutting of the "V" will make it less top-heaUse this as your pattern for the rest. Feature: the "V" part allows you to nestle and cut two or more narrow poles or tree limbs (around 3 to 8 feet (91.44 cm x 44 meters) in length) with a chainsaw, to make your firewood quickly.vy.

Design the sawbuck lower if you are using a smaller "X" sawbuck with a hand "bow-saw". Make the sawbuck about only 20-24" (50.8 cm x 60.9 cm) high to the center. This will allow the user to put a foot on top of the poles or the split wood being cut, when it is that low (as illustrated).

Design a wide, heavily braced base to give you more stability for the power of a chainsaw.
Caution: A lightweight sawbuck might lead to an injury if it falls over while cutting. Don't use a smaller sawbuck for chainsaw work.

Make the sawbuck fold if wished. One way to connect the sawbuck together is to use one big bolt of about a 4 inch (10.16 cm) long, and 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) in diameter. Put it in the exact same placement at the center of each "X", using extra-large washers, so that it can be clamped together and loosened to fold for storage. Consider screwing on a leg spacer-brace on each "X". Then unscrew the end spacer-brace to allow the "X" to fold. To build a non-folding sawbuck, simply connect the "X" forms together, and use 4 to 6 nails/screws driven permanently into about the center of each "X".

Cutting porcelain tile with wet saw and it breaks at the end of the cut?

Porcelain tile has to be cut painstakingly slow, especially the last inch or two to prevent the splitting problem you are having. When you are cutting tile, the sawblade rides up just a little as the tile is being fed into it. You'll notice it if you stop pushing the tile through and watch the head drop down just a bit. When you are getting to the last part of the cut, reduce the pressure you are using to push the tile into the blade so the blade can wear away the tile with little pressure and vibration as possible.

I have a 10" ridgid

With bigger tiles I have to cut more than half way, and then turn tile around and cut last bit from other direction.

You might be able to cut half way down tile, and then move tile forward on tray.

My wheels come to a stopper and don't run off the track, so my saw is different than yours.

Its either the speed of the blade ( mine came with its speed at half rate), or its the crappy blade they give you with the saw. If a cut is bowing your blade is having a tough time with material. This often happens with tough porcelain tiles and not using a porcelain blade.

Applied dark brown glass tiles and those that were cut with a wet diamand blade saw are darker in colour to the others. will cut tiles become the same colour as other non cut tiles?

THIS COULD BE CAUSED BY 1 OF TWO THINGS, WHEN YOU USE WATER TO CUT ANY TILE YOU ARE INTRODUCING WATER TO THE INSIDE OF THE TILE WHICH WILL CAUSE THIS DARKENING OF THE TILE, 2ND WHEN YOU WET CUT USE A SLOW LITE PRESSURE LET THE BIT DO THE WORK TO MUCH PRESSURE AND NOT ENOUGH WATER WILL CAUSE OVER HEATING AND DARKEN THE TILE. HOPE THIS HELPS. ALSO
THIS DOESN'T ALWAYS WORK BUT AFTER CUTTING PLACE TILE IN A HEATED AREA TO DRY OUT THE WATER ,THE GLAZING IS WHAT PROTECTS THE INSIDE
