Follow this steps and fix it. God bless you

  1. Inspect the power cordUnplug the power cord and check for voltage at the outlet. Also inspect for damage, shorts, or burn marks that can be a possible safety hazard.
  2. Bad door switchIf your microwave does not work at all and you know everything is plugged in properly and the outlet is functioning, then also check the door hooks and the door release button. Using a volt-ohm meter on RX1, check your terminals. When your microwave door is closed you should have a reading of zero. Once the door is open the reading should change to infinity. If these readings do not match up, replacement of the door switch is necessary.
  3. Blown fusesTo determine if your fuse has blown out, which may attribute to your microwave not running, you need to pull the fuse out using a pair of fuse pullers. Lay it down and using a volt-ohm meter on RX1, check both ends of the fuse in question. If you do not get a reading of zero, then you will need to replace the fuse.
  4. Bad fan motorLocate the fan and remove the leads. Again using the volt-ohm meter on RX1, check the terminals. If an infinity reading is displayed, it means that the fan has gone bad and requires replacement.

Why did my micro stop working?

I guess the main plug fuse does not blow for the same reason it does not blow and you can wreck a PC, although not certain why that is. I have a feeling from past work on a Panasonic that there is an internal fuse as well. This may have blown with the power surge.

No power to unit. Internal fuse ok. Power ok to plug

It sounds like you have a short in the keypad controller system, there is a microprocessor board mounted behind the the keypad that control vital areas of the microwave's operation. I suggest appliance technician to check out the systems hardware and the rest of the oven.

My model is nn-s253wf, micowave stopped working, no power, checked circuit breaker, is ok ?, unplugged, then plugged back in, still no power ?

Inside the external case and usually to the right left ( from Front) in some models There is a 30 amp fuse ( This may vatry on oven output amperage) Replace that and you should be back in cook mode.
Removing the case you should remember to disconnect from the power plug.

Please rate my help++++Thanks for using FIXYA

We have the full service manual for this model and have uploaded it to our site here to help you.

You will need the
free Acrobat Reader to view or print it in case you don't have it.

The parts I would suspect most are the internal fuse, the magnetron TCO (thermal cutout) or the oven cavity TCO.

To check or replace the latter, you'll need to remove the oven from the wall and remove the cover.

If so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

You can download GE owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

There should also be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

It says:

F7 Power to magnetron interrupted

1. Unplug microwave oven or disconnect power.
2. After 40 seconds, check to see whether this solves the problem.
3. Unplug microwave oven or disconnect power.
4. Check cooling fan operation
5. Check the magnetron.
6. Check P65 connection on the relay control board.
7. Check the P56/P66 connection between relay board and relay control board.
8. Check wiring to the 1200W inverter and control system. See “Checking Inverters.”
9. Check operation of all interlock switches.
10. Replace all parts and panels before operating.
11. Plug in microwave oven or reconnect power.
12. Check voltage at 4903-1 on relay board. If it is 120, unplug microwave oven or disconnect power.
13. Replace inverter.
14. Replace all parts and panels before operating.
15. Plug in microwave oven or reconnect power.
16. If problem persists, unplug microwave oven or disconnect power.
17. Replace relay control board.
18. Replace all parts and panels before operating.
19. Plug in microwave oven or reconnect power.
20. If problem persists, unplug microwave oven or disconnect power.
21. Check for reversed plug connection on controls or loose wiring.
22. Replace all parts and panels before operating.
23. Plug in microwave oven or reconnect power.

If for some reason your tech sheet is not there, you can download it here.

We regularly repair control units for customers nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week with a one-year guarantee.
