My needle broke while sewing and now my motor is locked up. Is there a way to reset it? There is no thread in the machine and it vibrates when trying to go back up. Thanks for your help!

When the needle broke it could have caused the machine to just time, it would be a good idea to have the machine checked at a sewing machine shop...

SOURCE: Not picking up the Bobbin thread

I cleaned the machine good with canned air, oiled it. I took out the bobbin case and cleaned it good also. I then noticed the tension screw on the bobbin case was loose, tightened it and the problem was fixed.

SOURCE: does not stitch lower thread

Make sure when you thread the machine you have the thread seated into the tension assembly on top, then make sure you have the threading ports locked and the switch in the proper place for each looper threading, the machine will only partially thread if you do not have the port locked and it will even still sew although not properly.

SOURCE: Inapproipiate needle stop position THEN Main Motor Lock comes on

The BELT was OFF. I guess it did that during shipment to me. So my husband just put it back on. THAT SIMPLE. It just kept making a motor trying to run sound and my husband took the left top cover off and seen it was only the belt. I was SO excited. It saved me a service call.

SOURCE: Not picking up the Bobbin thread

Sounds like you have to take off the throat plate and clean out threads under it.  Sometime they ball up and prevent the needle from going down and catching the bobbin thread. You can't see themuntil you take off the plate.  Follow the directions.  It is easy.

Reset timing on real industry sewing machine

most likely the needle thread adjustment is not tight enough and the thread is bunching up underneath
If it is stitching then the needle / hook timing is correct and it is the tensions that are out

Does anyone have an idea of what might be wrong with my sewing machine? The bobbin thread is not being picked up by the needle.

rather sounds like the people that repaired it did not check the timing the bobbin has to be in the proper position when the needle passes it so the threads cross over .

How do I get my machine to start sewing and stop beeping?

try rethreading the machine--use EVERY thread guide
make sure the needle is inserted up into the needle holder and turned the right direction
make sure the bobbin is inserted correctly into the bobbin case and turned the right direction
clean under the needle plate and in the bobbin area for loose thread or lint
make sure thread has not come off the thread take up lever
also the jam could have caused the machine to jump time and needs a timing or a adjustment

Needles lock

Have you hit a hoop while sewing? Is the needle jammed up and will not come down or down and will not go up? You need to make sure that you have no thread in the bobbin area. Even a tiny little piece will lock it up. Have you kept it oiled ? There are several places that need oiling. Bobbin area and needle bars are the two main ones. Make sure your needles are all the way up

sometimes the screws will vibrate loose on the needle bar .

Main motor lock, inappropriate needle position, after broken needle

The broken needle may be lodged in the bobbin housing. If you cannot locate, take it in for professional servicing. You may have put the timing out of whack.

I keep getting error E6 on Brothers CS 6000i- I cleaned the thread several times and when I try to restart sewing it happens again. I've removed the bobbin and re-threaded and it keep jammin and beeping....

The motor locked up because the thread is tangled.
Solution:
Remove the tangled thread before continuing the operation.
Clean the bobbin case to remove the tangled thread.
After cleaning the bobbin case, insert the bobbin case properly.
If the needle is bent or broken, replace the needle.
Then, thread the upper thread properly, and continue the operation.

My needle broke on my serger and i replaced it and now wont make stitch. please help

some times when you break a needle in a sewing machine or
serger it can cause the machine to jump time, it would be a good
idea to have the machine checked for a timing problem or to see
if when the needle broke it caused a problem with another part in
the serger.
