WEN Brand 3816 Gas Chainsaw - how do you start it...what is the protocal for starting it

We just bought a WEN Brand 3816 Gas Chainsaw off of craigs list...and It didnt come with a manual. In the past we have had only electric chain saws. I was wondering if you knew the protocol for starting one of these chain it as simple as just pushing the prime button and then pulling the rip cord? We have already got the 40-1 gas oil mix in it...just need to know how to start it

I need a repair manual for my 2007 WEN 3818 gas chainsaw. It will not start at all.

Before you get a manual try dumping out the fuel and mix up some fresh fuel. Try to start.

Troubleshooting chainsaw

Sadly, the 3816 is not designed for larger timber. 38cc is only for smaller limbs, As a general rule also the largest timber to cut should only be 2/3 of the length of the bar

Brand new Blue Max 20" chain saw wont start, has fresh gas/oil mixed @ 25:1

I also have a BlueMax 45cc chainsaw that I could not start right out of the box. I got lucky a couple of times after many (20 or 30 pulls) but normally I just gave up. Many others online seem to be having this problem with this chainsaw.

It turns out the solution for me was that the starting instructions in the manual are not really complete, there is another step that aids in starting: it needs some throttle. The chainsaw does not like to start with power at idle. After setting the switch to on and setting the choke, as the manual says, before attempting to start, squeeze the throttle while pressing the side button to lock it. For me, this allowed it to FINALLY start with only a few pulls. I learned this when I ran across this video:
How to start BlueMax Chainsaw 45CC

Hope this helps anyone else who runs into this.

Wen electric chain saw -is it doa?

Are you pressing the trigger lock with your thumb before you pull the trigger? That's a safety feature to prevent accidental sawing.

There's not a sensor for the oil, but you don't want to run the saw dry. It takes a special bar/chain oil which is thicker than motor oil.

FYI... if you look for a manual on the web, search for "Wagner chainsaw" because Wagner bought the chainsaw business from Wen.
