best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: eMachines T6528 desktop will not boot up

The power supply fan runs from either 5V or 12 so that only tells you that the voltage for fan operation is present.
If you don't have a multimeter already, I would highly advise that you buy one. They are available for <$20 US at auto parts stores and electronic outlets. If you have one, remove the couple of screws that hold on the side panel that will let you access the guts. For an initial check, turn the power off and if your cables are long enough, don't bother to disconnect anything since changing the load on the supply might make it appear OK again. Turn it back on once you have it in position and are not moving it anymore.
Locate the main connector from PS to the mother board, insert the negative probe into any connector hole with a black wire.
All supplies will have 5V, +-12V (these are the primary voltages used by many devices) and you will find (probably) -5 and some that seem stable but undefined which are used for monitoring supply health.
Many supplies have the voltages listed on a label which often will tell you the orientation (location) of the various voltages.
I think you have a supply dying but you need to measure its outputs before assuming I'm right - been wrong before.
While you have the case open, but power off, clean out the dust bunnies you'll find using a clean paintbrush that has been dampened and made nearly dry again or buy a 'can of air' to blow them out. I recommend against vacuuming due to the horrendous static charge they can build and this is death to most semiconductors.
If you have established that the supply is failed or failing, you can buy a new one (don't repair) for about 20% of the cost of the parts inside - yeah, it's nuts. Your system will probably use the ATX form factor (so it fits mechanically) and any of these will have the basic connectors but examine the pictures and compare them to yours to be sure that some non-standard connectors your system might have are present on  the new one. If your supply says 350 watts, add another 50 or 100 watts to the replacement; it won't cost much more but will let the supply run with less stress.
If you feel the need, you might want to label stuff before you disconnect things if you haven't done it before but the connectors are made so you can't screw up without trying real hard.

SOURCE: How to do a system recovery when my cd rom drive doesnt work?

got to have a new cd-rom drive mate, most practical approach.

other options are network boot (done in offices with many computers), USB boot (if your BIOS supports it & you need to have a USB device with the bootable image of the system disk), etc.

Just rooted my huawei H881c. Now I can't get the cwm recovery to install on it. How can I do this?

In rooting your phone, you have just done as 60% of people do, and have turned it into a paperweight.

You have modified the operating system, and now have no way to get the old operating system back. You need a new phone.

Clockworkmod recovery

I had recently completed a stock recovery on my HTC One m7. The only way I got it to work was to search in the web browser for the exact matching kernel and radio. Only then was I able to complete the install. I have found that some OTA updates mess up your ability to use past developed builds. So confirm your update version as well to see if compatibility of update versions have been addressed.

Probably you will have to format your phone and install a New Rom or restore the same firmware it can be done by connecting your phone to a PC and then flashing it with a system tools and a new Rom. Or enter into recovery by pressing volume up+call button+power but do this if you have a CWM installed if not then you have to take it to a Service center.

Hope this Helps.

Are you installing a rom from .zip file?
I assume you are doing that.
To follow these steps, you will need ClockWorkMode and rooted stock rom. In recovery mode, load CWM, Clear dalvik cache and data partion and then install ROM .zip fike. Try to obtain new package of ROM files. The one you may have may have some internal configuration problems.
Now, if your phone doesn't load any OS, try flashing with ODIN with stock ROM packages. You can download it from xda-developers or by searchibg it in google.. Note, try to watch some demos from youtube before actually doing it. It will help you to know correct procedures.

Samsung galaxy S - I was playing with phone and now can't seem to call out. I can answer calls but it appears frozen when trying to get into it so I can't make calls. I get to

Until further notice - don't use ROM Manager on our device. Kernel-included CWM is the way to go. My guess is that somehow ROM manager dorked up your system partition. You may need to Odin/Heimdall back to stock, then flash codeworkx's CWM kernel, although I'm surprised you weren't able to enter CWM after flashing codeworkx's kernel...

Edit: When you say it "freezes up" - do you mean stuck at the Samsung Galaxy S II screen, or does CWM come up?

Furthermore, the first day I had the phone, I used Rom Manager to install MUIU and it worked fine! Except I had the wrong modem (which I just found out today). I thought MIUI screwed up my phone (because I was unable to make calls) so I then flashed back to stock. Luckily someone posted the stock modem up and I installed works fine.
