put the chain on and adjust the chain tension so that it is a little snugger than it has been. that should solve your problem. if it doesn't it may be time to replace the chain bar.

According to the manufacturer... "Use SAE 30 motor oil for best results. (For temperatures below 30° F, use SAE 10. For temperatures above 75° F, use SAE 40.) DO NOT use Bar & Chain oil." So, I suggest for any Remington electric chains saw not to use bar and chain oil. I hope this helps...

SOURCE: What type of oil do a Remington 14

Use any commercial bar oil. It is available at most home centers and hardware stores. I use the Ace Hardware brand. Bar oil contains tackifiers to attempt to keep it on the bar and chain, the parts that need lubrication. HTH

SOURCE: Need chain oil resevoir for Remington electric

I suspect you did an on line search, we can do no better. Remington has ceased production. Parts availability is limited to what is on hand. It might be advisable to save the money you would expend for parts and put it toward the purchase of a new electric saw.
Poulan has been in business a very long time and offers 8 different models. Some can be found at Lowes. HTH

Sooner or later you will encounter a part that isn't available for your Remington. Yours may be worth more as parts than as a complete assembly. eBay?

I have a Remington 14' Limb n' Trim electric chainsaw. There is an oil reservoir (I think - it has a little rubber cap) and I am not sure if it is for motor oil. If it is, what type of oil should I use?

jmccabe2465-

The reservoir is for bar chain oil, which all chain saws require to allow the chain to operate smoothly and reduce heat build-up from friction.

Hope this helps.

What type of oil does remington 3.5 electric saw uses?

You need “Bar and Chain Oil”, available at hardware stores and home centers. It is SAE 30 (30 weight non-detergent oil) with additives to make it adhere to your bar and chain.
An excerpt from a Remington manual follows (edited).
FILLING OIL TANK

1. Remove oil cap.
2. Fill oil tank with SAE 30 motor oil if the temperature is between 30 & 75°F.
• Colder use SAE 10 oil.
• Warmer use SAE 40 oil.
3. Replace oil cap at once. Tighten oil cap firmly for a good seal. This will avoid oil seepage from tank.
4. Wipe off excess oil.
• It is normal for oil to seep when saw is not in use.
• Empty oil tank after each use to prevent seepage.

Some manuals go from page 6 to page 14. This one is very good.

No manual / chain came off ; need to put back on model ld4016aw remington

I couldn't find your model number but did find an "Owner's Manual" for a M15014US. The chain installation should be similar.
http://shoppingcart.msservicecompany.com/Default.aspx
In the "Search for your unit by Model #:: window type & enter "M15014US" search.
Click the "View Model" link to the right of "M15014US - Remington Electric Chainsaw"
Click the "View Owner's Manual" link.
The chain atop the bar needs to be like page 16, figure 25 or it is installed backward.
You can save the Owner's Manual and the Illustrated Parts Diagram. I recommend you do. HTH

Enter M15014US (your saw) in the “Search for your unit by Model” window. You can find both an Operator's Manual and IPL. I recommend you download both.

Item 4 lists available bars for your saw, a 14" bar for your saw is pn 114731-01S, $17.85 if available.
Item 5 lists available chains for your saw, a 14" chain for your saw is pn 114735-01S updates to M14SC
, $12.95 if available. You can probably take your chain to a neighborhood chainsaw shop and have a replacement made cheaper.
