Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

swap batteries if does not work this unit should need repair or replace, display blinking can be produced for power failure ( battery, contacts, circuits) or can be a controller issue.

SOURCE: T5420 unable to transmit or receive. Please help!

Here is a link to the T5000-T5500 user manual. 'http://www.motorola.com/mdirect/manuals/T50-T55_UserGuide.pdf'

From what you have stated, I can discern the radios will power up. You might try setting your interference eliminators to zero (off) to see if you are able to transmit at all.

You do not mention if you are using AA batteries or rechargeables. Either way a fresh set of charged batteries would be best for a test. It is clear you were getting power. However, it does take more energy to transmit than to receive. If your batteries are low or bad, pressing the PTT could us all the energy the radio has, and yet not transmit to the other units.

You might also check you VOX settings if any and be certain they are turned off.

It is not likely 4 radios would fail all at the same time. So it is probably a programming problem. Hope the user manual helps you find the solution.

SOURCE: Motorola Talkabout FV700 not transmitting nor receiving

To troubleshoot: Unlock your keypad lock, then reprogram your radios to the following settings. (Check function after each change)
1) Shut off the Interference Eliminator (set to zero).
2) Turn off the Qt filter.
3) Vox setting to off.

By shutting off all the "bells and whistles" of the radio, you will take it back to being just simply on a frequency. If your radios do not communicate with one another then, or with your friend's radios, you have radio which is failing to operate.

If the radios do work in this simple mode. One by one add the special features back until you discover the culprit.

Are you sure that the batteries are running well?
Try using alkaline batteries just for testing.

SOURCE: Some bands OK some not. No transmit, no readout on some.

its the problem of the frequency range its getting blocked  at particular location.these can be solved by two options 1)first try changing the location of the unit from one corner to another corner.that should help to catch the frequency again if its getting blocked at particular location.this happens many times.but if changing the locan does not make any difference.then  2) get checked that the antenna of the unit is not catching the required frequency for the unit.so change the antenna also connect this external antenna  as mentioned 50 ω (it comes wioth SMA Connector) that helps in catchinf the frequency. you will get this at radio shack website. this will help. ----------------------------- also in the unit there is a component which controls the frequency called microprocessor if that goes weak the unit slowly slowly stops receving the accurate signals and only the noise comes.so the micro processor in located internally in the left side.its a green and black colour mini chip circuit board.many times opening the unit and removing and cleaning the microprocessor and refitting it solves the problem but this is 50 --- 50 chance. this all has to be checked what mentioned. thank you for using fixya.

Maybe.
Did you fish it out immediately, removed the batteries, rinsed it in fresh water, then let it dry thoroughly before even thinking about trying to turn it on? If so, it MIGHT work again after being dried. Otherwise you may as well give it a good funeral and get a new camera.

My unit smells of fish. I've tried everything help

Dry out completely, wear rubber gloves, wipe down all surfaces with liquid bleach, allow to air out completely then use a sponge with vanilla essense dropped into it to give a nice odour back to your fridge, if after all this the smell returns then it may have infiltrated the evap coils in the freezer, you will have to remove the internal back cover & flush with warm water & bleach.

Water damaged

It may have been recoverable, but you damaged it further when you tried to turn it on.

If you had fished it out immediately, removed the batteries, rinsed both camera and batteries in fresh water, and then let everything dry out thoroughly before even thinking about putting the batteries back in and turning it on, the camera MIGHT have worked.

Apparently you just shook it dry and tried to turn it on, right? If that's the case, you may as well give it a good funeral and get a new camera.

I dropped my Blackberry in a puddle of water and its not working. What can I do?

Remove the battery, turn the unit on it's back and allow any water to work its way out. Let the unit sit for a day or so. If you can't wait that long, take a blow dryer to it and blow out any water. When the unit appears to be completly dry, insert the battery and see if it boots up. If it doesn't, it may not be completely dry yet.

The 7290 is a pretty versatile unit. I dropped mine in a lake twice on the same camping trip. Both times I immediately removed the battery, laid it out on a rock and let the sun dry it. It booted up fine both times.

Cheers!

Channels flashing from one too other and whatdoes

Channels flashing from one to another is your radio scanning the available channels. You probably have a scan feature turned on. Can't help you with your other question. You might try posting in the general 2-way radio section.
